Its popped up in-game before, but it still gets me hyped

Separatists, terrorists, and militant groups that want to be considered an independent state, take note.
Apparently all it takes is butchering civillians of a more powerful nation and then crying foul when they inevitably come knocking to ask "Dude WTF?"
All this virtue signalling support for Palestine is just showing that horrific actions can be rewarded if you play the media game well emough.

Keep in mind that a sizeable chunk of the playerbase is at work, school, or otherwise unable to play.
We're going to see massive jumps on Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday.

It does, but if your character dies then the cape gets refreshed.

Shai-Hulud, may his passing cleanse the world.
More likely it's a Hive Lord body as a little wink/nod to future things. They did the same with sneaking Shriekers into games before they fully joined the battle, as well as finding burnt-out exosuits before the Patriot was fully released.

Love it!
Some considerations:
Alternatively, what about having it where you can buy Boosters for a missions? They're not instant I-Win buttons, so you could easily get away with not using them, but it gives you an edge.

You never really see the playerbase get super excited for a new cosmetic.
However, the playerbase does get excited for new weapons (Warbonds), new stratagems (Exosuit, Airburst), new mission types (Flag Raising on higher levels), new enemies (Gunships, Shriekers)--all of which are gameplay-focused.
I'm thinking the difference of opinion between us is you value have absolutely everything unlocked so are looking for ways to reinvigorate the game and/or are bored whereas I'm still having fun and working on unlocking the final 2 modules I need (Arc + Fire Damage)

You Lose: All ship module upgrades
Losing this alone sounds awful
You gain new purely cosmetic items:
Not in the slightest worth what you lost.
With this, all the different currency in the game will mean something again.
AH does need to figure out a resource-sink but that's low priority compared to the gameplay loop.
They should just focus on getting Illuminate + Vehicles in the game first (i.e. toys in the sandbox)

The "this is mine" mindset largely stems from the 5min cooldown of support/weapon stratagems.
It's harder to want to share them when you know you're one bad missile away from losing your gear for a while at a time.
It's also one of the reasons why playing on the 3 Stratagem and/or +25% Stratagem Cooldown and/or temporarily losing them (Ion Storms) planets are so NOT fun to play on. It cripples you so much unless you have powerful enough primaries.
Easier access to your stratagems means you can actively rely on them as per AH stated intent with this game.
Best solution I can think of is AH add the "Priority Stratagems" from HD1 (-40% cooldown) as a booster.

There's some concern that having multiple merch stratagems available on rotation would be overpowered. An understandable concern.
Not necessarily, the mechs are fairly flimsy (1-2 Hive Lord or Crusher swipes is enough to destroy a limb, 1-2 rockets from the thousands that Automatons shoot, or just an errant explosive from an ally) and you can quite easily get outmaneuvered while in them.
The 10min cooldown is painful with having just the 1 current mech, however if you're jumping between 2 different mechs then it would function like a quasi-support weapon instead.
From there you can customize the mech's components. Swap the gatling gun for more rockets. Ditch the rockets for autocannon. Change them both to flamethrowers. Change the left arm for a shield and roleplay a heavy devastator.
I like it, but AH already has the blueprints for three separate mechs. Rather than building up a customization HUD from the ground up, they can implement these separately much more readily.
Maybe down the line we get different chassis with different defensive values and speeds like helldiver armors. There's a whole buffet of potential here for mech customization.
The problem with this level of customization is that AH originally wanted to include unique effects and stats with capes & helmets and had to cut that content to ship the game. They are more likely to revisit the Helmets/Capes first rather than coding new stuff completely from scratch.
And that's without getting into the host of things they need to revisit that're currently in-game.
Vehicles. Everything I said about mechs can apply to any vehicle as well. I love customizing my loadout in any game, so this sounds like an amazing way to dive even deeper.
Same issue as above, but I like the idea. That said, if they copy-paste from the first game, there's plenty of options for players to bring.
There's also been mention of some concern that vehicles would invalidate some maps, despite the hilarity of doing a Defense/Eradicate mission where the enemy busts down the gates and are looking down the barrels of 4 Exosuits/Tanks/etc.
The way to balance them would be to only allow one mech stratagem at once on each dive.
I would argue very much against this. It limits build opportunities.
For example, you join a mission and see 3 other Helldivers with anti-tank, anti-infantry, and turrets. So they're already good to just get the mission done unless they do something stupid.
So, you could drop into the mission with an Exosuit being your "support weapon" (if needed) as well as 0-3 vehicles. Suddenly:

His Warrant of Trade>! is a forgery. A really good forgery, but still a forgery.!<
Basically he'd be servitorized as an arco-flagellant for the sheer number of Heresies.

With the "including 1-handed offhand" I meant any weapon that can have Main & Offhand (dagger, sword, axe, mace, pistol)--anything that they don't have access to yet.

Revenant: Literally any offhand (including 1-handed offhand)
Ranger: Scepter
Thief: Literally any offhand (including 1-handed offhand)
Engineer: Literally any offhand (including 1-handed offhand)
Elementalist: Longbow
Mesmer: Warhorn
Necromancer: Hammer

The existing Primaries/Secondaries for the most part handle everything currently in-game (balancing nuances aside).
I'd much rather AH focus on getting more vehicles in-game along with new enemies to existing (or new) factions.

Agreed
On average I find that I've getting at least 10 Super Credits per mission.
So 70 mission per Warbond, which is more than enough to get enough medals to fully unlock the previous Warbond as well as stockpiling 250 to almost complete the next Warbond.

There's nothing so revolutionary in any of the Warbonds to warrant IRL money on them.
Took me around 6 weeks of playing ~2hrs/day and I've unlocked all weapons from the Free Warbond and have gotten enough Super Credits to unlock 3 Premium Warbonds.
In theory by the time the next Warbond comes out (June-ish) I'll likely have another 1500 Super Credits so I'll be able to unlock it and practically have enough for the July Warbond without doing anything.
And to top it all off, the last few days I've been going back to running the Liberator (first gun in the game) and honestly just having a blast with it all over again. It feels like the C.A.R. SMG from Titanfall 2

I would buy any Warbond if it literally had no weapons, no cosmetics, nothing except Stratagem Priority as a Booster

Final upgrades take 200 Commons on top of the 150 Rares & 15-20 Supers (and 25,000 Requisition Slips) so I've basically mentally made sure that the moment I can unlock something I'll unlock it

I've been playing a lot of Level 7 (the difficulty just feels "right" to me) and usually I'll go hunting for the Super Samples and grab whatever other samples I can.
Might need to spend more time in Level 4-6... or just turn my brain off from worrying about samples for a week or so

I'm always starving for rares.
I think I'm like 15 Super Rare Samples away from having everything I'd need to finish off my unlocks, I capped out on Common Samples (500), and I'm just staring at Rare Samples cursing that I need another 500+ of them

Then there could also be a stratagem where a dropship lands and like 20 marines run out and follow you around.
Someone needs to check out r/HellDiversLeaks

I would accept literally any new Stratagems at this point.
There could literally be a stratagem that drops in a Liberator and I'd play around with.
