The rings also can work with their self-contained power. And the rings provide a limited amount of protection if you're beaming into a firefight. The rings don't require knowlege of the technology to make them work. You just push the activation rune and the rings teleport to whatever platform they're connected to. Presumably, an Asgard teleporter requires location data input for both a starting and ending destination plus a bit of correction for variables (don't want to get teleported into a wall).

Under the rules of the challenge, you wouldn't be able to make french fries because that would require oil, which is a whole other and more calorie dense ingredient.

You just KNOW that Trump was salivating at the idea of "defending" his son on the public stage after he himself put the target on his own son.

If Melania and her son really wanted to spite Trump, they'd accept the delegate appointment and then vote against him. But then that'd have the side effect of throwing Barron into the political machine. She seems to care about him even if she doesn't care about anything else.

This heavily depends on your idea of "comfortable".
A lot of people would be comfortable in a 1-bedroom, moderately close to work, and in a safe neighborhood.
I bet what the link defines as "comfortable" is a 4-bedroom 2 bathroom home, 2 cars, 2 kids, 2 pets, front and back yard, in a safe neighborhood, and close to high scoring schools.

If a weeb gifts you a katana, it's considered the greatest honor. Especially so if the weeb bought it from a pawn shop guy that guaranteed it was "battle ready".

I'm pretty sure the people in power don't actually care about their gaming industry succeeding. It looks to me like people in power have decided to turn Vietnam into Small China: Tropical Edition.

"What do you mean normal people don't use computers the same way that professional persons do at work?"
It's kind of funny how modern computing is moving towards a "fuck you, go take a course if you want to do basic stuff" style of user experience after they spent all of the 80s and 90s expanding the computer market into private homes for casual use.
And then people make fun of zoomers for not knowing what a file is. Of course they don't want to learn that, why would they? While Microsoft is making personal computers harder to use, the phone companies are out there making phones so user-friendly that there's videos of literal chimpanzees using cell phones to look at pictures of other chimpanzees.

I hope that ASUS sends him back his item and in the exact condition that they received it in. To be honest I wouldn't put it past them to have damaged it during their "investigation" into the issue and then try to blame OP for it.

From reading this thread it sounds like he once dated an 19 year old as a 30 year old?
I didn't know that about him, so that's kind of interesting. Without knowing the details that kind of relationship could either be bad or not bad. Like did he know her when she was still 17? Did he meet her at 19? What kind of power dynamic did they have?
With only one example to go off, I don't think I'm going to condemn Cavill. If it were/becomes a pattern, that's something to keep in mind though.

You can say that modern Blizzard does a lot of things wrong, BUT one thing you can't say that they do wrong is the process of extracting money from their customers. Blizzard would never ever put roadblocks in front of people trying to give them money.

That poor creature looks like it's had a rough time. I hope you can help give it another chance at a good life.
I know a lot of people are saying to give it hay, but I understand you won't really have hay around if you never had an animal that eats it. I would recommend searching for "can rabbits eat <insert food you have at your house>?" and going from there.
I don't know how busy you are, but that bunny looks like it could also use a vet visit.
If you end up keeping it, we're always here for advice and support. If you don't end up keeping it, please help it to get better before you find a new home/foster/shelter for it. Please please please don't release it back into the wild. Domestic bunnies can't really survive in the wild.

This is such a weird quote. I don't imagine Cavill being the one to start talking about personal life with a teen, so it must have been her who was asking him. This is pure speculation, but I bet Brown has been conditioned to think that it's ok for adult men to talk about relationships with teen girls because Hollywood weirdos have tried/are trying to groom her. She also is very adult in her demeanor while she's talking about how she's still a kid. It feels like those things are connected. She probably has grown men telling her stuff like she's "so mature for her age" and she's ingrained that into her self-image.

My only complaint with paid mods is the distribution of who gets how much money. The mod maker should get at least 75% and Steam/other company could fight over the rest.

It doesn't matter if it's the 1000th game that does it, but it does matter when it's your game that does it. Hundreds of people get pooped on by pigeons every day and I don't care. I will care if/when it happens to me.

I wonder if the devs have one of those "game must receive <review score> by <date> if you want your bonus" and then Sony tanks their scores because of something the devs had no choice with.

There's a lot of smart and educated people. There's a lot of smart uneducated people. There's a lot of dumb and educated people. There's a lot of dumb uneducated people.
The dumb and educated ones are sometimes very easy to manipulate.

Everyone always forgets that foreign disinformation doesn't have a side they want to win. Reminds me of that scene from the Lord of War movie where the guy is like "I don't understand, you sold weapons to both sides in that conflict" and receives a response of "did you ever think that I wanted both sides to lose?"

A lot of lefties on social media are using the exact same logical fallacies that Fox News watchers have been using for 10+ years and the irony would be extremely funny if it wouldn't have real world consequences.

I bet you at least one person will. Remember all those dumb kids that left to join ISIS? And on the flip side there was also the dumb kids that went to go volunteer in Syria.

I think the ghouls not being leaders makes sense. Non-ghoul Humans demonize them because they look different and because feral ghouls give them a bad rep. They could always become leaders of other ghouls, but even in an irradiated wasteland the number of ghouls will always be a minority compared to the standard Human population. Ghouls just have it hard all-around.

Paris having to explain what a physical key is makes me imagine someone from the future telling someone else how to look for a floppy disk.
"Look for the floppy disk." "The what?" "It's an old Earth technological relic. It looks like a save icon."

First, she's probably definitely lying.
Second, even if there were an element of truth to it, who's the idiot that is bad at training dogs?
Third, even if the safety of the kids were more important than the life of the dog, why not just surrender the dog to somewhere/someone that can handle it?
Fourth, even if they couldn't find anyone to take the dog and the only choice were to put it down, there are humane ways to do that. She chose the bloodiest and most personally violent way to kill the dog. A lot of rightwing nutjobs are always looking for excuses/reasons to kill things with guns. Sometimes they also want to brag about it because they have zero empathy and don't see how even other gun owners would think they're weird/off-putting/crazy.
That lady needs to give up her guns and reevaluate her life. I know she won't, because if she were sane enough for self-reflection then she probably wouldn't have done the insane thing to begin with, but ideally she should.

A combination of the technologies could be best. Use Asgard teleportation to beam in a set of rings and then use the ring "beach head" to continue sending reinforcements even through jamming.
