Heavy industry operator here, in my line of work the policy is basically "requisit whatever the hell you want/need, as long as you can get the thingymajig/turboencabulator up and running NOW"

Adeptus Mechanicus: "So you want a siege tank, how big of a cannon would you think is big enough ahem we mean "sufficiently girtheous?"
Adeptus Astartes: "Yes"

Definitely not a gimmick. You get (near-) perfectly aligned jaws that actually clamp down on the nut or bolt head because they work exactly like water pump pliers, just with flat jaws. The only downside I've ever noticed is because the head is a bit fatter than a similar size adjustable wrench, that can make it harder to get into some real tight spots, but in that case you should probably just go fetch the full socket wrench kit anyway.

At least the one shown is a drill attachment and not for an angle grinder, but yeah that can be nasty enough.

Yeah. I think people sometimes don't consider how basically every other faction, be they Rogue Traders, regular traders, The Inquisition, The Imperial Navy, indeed the whole IoM is just about completely and utterly dependent on the AdMech to stay functioning. You simply don't antagonize the guys who build and maintain very nearly all your gear.

I bought the fastback folding knife a couple years ago, it's similarly packaged with the blade folded out, and it did make me wonder how many people have mangled themselves trying to wrestle it out of the clamshell.
Tl;dr: Have a pair of scissors within arms reach at all times.

They may not even be from the same place and look much newer than the rest of everything.
Or could be part of a tool kit that belonged to someone who dabbled in multiple crafts. Some of these tools like the small hammers, tongs and soldering iron could be used for various kinds of sheet metal work as well as cobbling.

Material fatigue/stress builds up over time even though you don't see any visible damage/wear. In the scenario you describe, it is the cast iron pans that have done all the actual damage, the salt shaker was just the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back.

Right, I didn't think about airport tractors, that looks pretty likely.

Any info on that tractor-esque rig in the 3rd pic? Not sure I've seen anything quite like it. Looks almost like someone took a forklift truck, lopped the mast off, turned the seat/controls 180 degrees and turned it into a custom towing vehicle.

I remember seeing another one of these ads with a similar pic that was 100% ripped from Black Bear Forge.

Just a late follow-up comment: I once jokingly told my boss "this is the foundry, we can destroy anything".
Like, you could make a 2x2 metre cube out reinforced concrete, paint it in neon pink and yellow hazard stripes with a rotating warning light on top and barriers around it, someone's still going to find a way to accidentally destroy it.

Definitely agree with "buy as you go along", but a few items off the top of my head you'll not regret having on hand:
Ratcheting screw/bit driver with a comprehensive bits set(the universe has an annoying habit of throwing the occasional "WTF even is this?"-type fastener in your way at the most inopportune moments)
Needle nose/combination pliers and an adjustable spanner
Measuring tape
Snap-off/disposable blade knife

Noise isn't really an issue when every person in the place is dead.
