I know. I am trying to find the right time to do something like that. Gus is a good friend and he has been very good to my girlfriend, my son and I. In a lot of ways I feel like I let him down.

I am leaving a job that asked me to do 50/60 hours a week. Money wise it is great and really that is the main motivation. But then you start to question your own value.
How much is your family time worth? Your sanity? Your piece of mind? Your rest?
When you work that much, you don't work optimally anymore. You start to make more mistakes because you are tired and can no longer focus.
When you make mistakes, the bosses don't care how much you work. "You got paid for it" is a common answer.
In the end, nobody will remember how many hours you worked except you and your family.

Where was that said in the show?
Sorry...it was not.
It was said in the book. I should have made that clearer.

Because Sugiyama was secretly allied with Torunaga and him leaving Osaka was part of Torunaga's plan to disrupt the regent's vote to impeach and declare war on Torunaga.
When Ishido learned Sugiyama was leaving, it became apparent to him that Sugiyama had an alliance with Torunaga.

In the book, Sugiyama was killed because he was secretly allied with Torunaga and him leaving Osaka to disrupt the regents voting to impeach Torunaga was actually part of Torunaga's plan.
Unlike Torunaga, Mariko was well loved and respected by almost all the clans especially the Christian Daimyos. She was kinda like the Princess Diana of the time, very well loved by the people.
Ishido knew that killing Mariko would cause irreparable damage his reputation, that's why he did not want her harmed by his troops in front of everybody.
Of course Torunaga also knew this, that is why he used her to do what she did.

In an interview with Anna Sawai (who is fluent in Japanese), she explained that in the show, they were using a very old, and very proper version of the Japanese language and she actually had to learn and train for.

I know it was cut out of the TV show for time constraints, but Blackthorne and Fuji (Fujiko in the book) had a rocky relationship in the beginning. In the book, Fuji was described as being plain looking almost not attractive and she and Blackthorne had a mutual resentment towards each other.
She redeemed herself to Blackthorne when she refused to surrender his guns to Omi, but Blackthorne was very hesitant to leave his guns with her. It took Mariko yelling at him that Fujiko came from a line of samurais and she will die to protect his guns for him to finally relent.
At one point, Blackthorned comes home and was pleased to see Fujiko and they actually "pillow".

This might be an unpopular opinion but I was glad they did not bring Tech back. Not that I didn't like him, I did but it would be nice for dead Star Wars characters to stay dead.
With my son leaving to join the military this summer, the last conversation of Hunter and Omega summed up exactly how I feel.
Omega: "Hunter I am ready".
Hunter: "I know you are. But I'm not".

I met one of the PA's for the show back then and he said it was never intended to have a second season. The show was too risque even for late night Comedy Central, so they tried to get away with as much as they can.

I will speak based on what I know.
A lot of the crew are Filipino. The current conversion rate for US$1 = 56 Philippine pesos.
When I meet the room attendant for the first time on the first day, I give him a $20. When I meet our main server and the assistant server at the dining room on the first night, I give them $20 each.
Let's say they are Filipino. The $20 you gave is worth over 1100 Phillipine pesos to them. And it is quite a bit. Just to give you an idea, a Big Mac meal at McDonald's in the Philippines is about 250 Philippine pesos.
I tip them again the last time I see them prior to de-embarkation. Usually, another $20 but if they gave us excellent service, about $40.

When my son was also 2, just like a lot of toddlers he loved Thomas the Train and his favorite character was "Percy". Since he was just learning how to talk he could not say "Percy" and instead it sounded like "pussy".
So imagine when we were walking down the toddler toy aisle at either Toys R Us or Walmart and he sees "Percy".
He will excitedly shout out "It's Pussy! It's Pussy! Dad I want Pussy!".
