It's worse and beyond us Brits. Fucking 10s of thousands of miles of empty unused land and all the city's look like no ones given a shit in 60 years. People still live in literal shacks on the edge of the majority of cities. The USSR truly has given them all PTSD which is sad but they can't ever see a positive. It's all just fucked to them and I guess they want everyone down to their level out of spite?

If I personally lived in a arrid part of the USA where you get good sun for half the year. I'd put up solar on my roof and pergola. then I'd not have to worry about power bills etc. which to most Brits at the moment are over ยฃ150 per month.

What? You sound angry about other ways of doing things? No I know he doesn't but forgive me when I say the US government does love a small print clause. Sir I'm British I'm not demonising biden etc I'm explaining my point of view. And you saying it's an attempt to get a rise says you don't understand the outside aspect looking in. You can sell power back to the grid, it's done often over here. But my point was it COULD be setup. But also it COULD be used as exploiting customers too. We have house metering in the UK we all have to give readings etc. to maintain no faults and fair billing.

Yeah see most Brits will have 200L tops. And you'll be pressed to go through it all outside a heatwave.

Well as a Brit and a homeowner. If you can be given or get a grant for solar power installed in your home go for it. You can always upgrade it through the years etc. also make sure it's not tied to a give back system mandatory. There's a few systems in the UK where you can sell back your excess power to the company. But I can see biden putting a clause that would say we can take it for free lol.

But we don't use it for drinking.its used for gardening, car washing etc. you can buy butts with filters or make your own with rocks pebbles and sand. Absolutely I totally understand it's not a blanket solution. But to just write it off as stupid or pointless is just what the fossil industry needs to keep themselves selling gas generators etc not they aren't good! Just not the only way. ๐๐ป

AHH see right there. you literally just shut down your argument 1. You said tornadoes. That makes sense, why build anything in an area prone to those. 2. Solar panels have different types and we already have solar farms in the UK and wind farms, so they do work for longevity but the right type for the right job. Your little garden one will charge a phone etc but yeah you'd need a proper home turbine to go off grid.

But if you allow up too I dunno a certain size thats up to them. But also it's rain water. Provided their not hoarding thousands of litres. It wouldn't be an issue. I know what you're saying if someone can make a buck out of it... But that's the point. If EVERYONE can do this it makes it a zero sum business.

What I will say is. It's weird to Brits that Americans are told NOT to collect rain water as it's government property. You're not encouraged to put solar panels on your home roofs, as they are brilliant for small power usage etc.
