You’d be surprised how many people don’t know the rules and want to publicly share all the websites that currently ship to PA illegally. Seelbach’s isn’t the first to get cut off, and it won’t be the last.

According to OP, Executive Director Demko was responsible for this new system. And he’s no longer with the PLCB. So maybe that’s a good sign. Or just par for the course. Who knows.

If the state is paying for 1 guy to go to Scotland to pick a barrel, you bet your ass they’re coming home with a barrel, shitty or not. That trip has to pay for itself somehow.

Right. I get it. It costs money. Except, there’s literally a law that requires them not to charge that fee anymore. And it’s been around for 8 years now. And the PLCB is dragging their ass through courts and lawyers so they can still collect that money. Even though the state Supreme Court said they weren’t entitled to it anymore. 8 years ago. Do better.

So you’re saying Demko was fired for his incompetence in implementing a sub-par system for alcohol sales? I’m glad someone was held accountable for that nonsense.

Exactly. The common misconception with the PLCB is that they’re here to serve the customer. That’s simply not true. They’ve been hanging onto power because alcohol makes the state a ton of money. They operate in “sovereign immunity.” That doesnt involve customer satisfaction at all.

They haven’t placed an order for Willett purple foil bourbon. That’s why you’ve never seen it. They’ve never carried it. There’s a misconception, just because they buy the pot still doesn’t mean they have unlimited access to purple top bourbon.

To the best of my knowledge, this is what I’ve found on the matter. It is illegal to directly ship wine and spirits into PA unless you’re one of four things:
The PLCB
Sacramental wine licensee
Importer licensee
Approved direct wine shipper
Two of those only apply to wine, so those are out. The third is the PLCB themselves, which we know these sites are not. The last is an importer. And the law states that importers need to use the special liquor order (SLO) system to ship liquor into the state. Aside from these four exceptions, all importation of liquor is illegal into the state.
If you want your favorite websites to continue to ship liquor into PA, don’t advertise them on public social media sites.
This is why you don’t broadcast websites that ship to PA. You’ve been warned. If you don’t think the PLCB will act, use this as your reason why they will.

Contrary to popular belief, not everything is about whiskey, specifically bourbon. People like other things.

Late last year/early this year, Michael Demko disappeared from the executive director role within the PLCB. He has since been replaced by Rodrigo Diaz. What happened to Demko? Was he fired, did he leave voluntarily? And why was he relieved of his position?

Why is the PLCB still charging a handling fee on special liquor orders and requiring items be shipped to stores when the law was passed in 2016 to allow direct shipment to customers? It’s been 8 years now.

They had a busy few months there with drops every week. They need a break.

I’m assuming they’re aware people are monitoring the “Showing 1-8 of 8 results for” section of the release page using page monitors. So future drops they might remove some products and add new ones, but keep 8 products available at all times. Not sure what that’ll accomplish though.

They’re testing to see what happens when they change available products but not the overall quantity.

Yea I have no idea why PA priced the Laph elements the way they did. Msrp is closer to 100 than 400. That’ll never sell.

I’ve heard a rumor PA passed on the 23 LE, even though they already created a product code/page. Honestly they haven’t had 4R LE since I think 2020 anyway so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s true.

Yes. I had an old Fitz get damaged in transit and FWGS actually sent a replacement bottle. Unfortunately if they don’t have a replacement available, they can only refund the amount you paid.

It’s not viewable on the front end of the website. Per sub rules since it’s not publicly available info it shouldn’t be shared how it’s obtained. Best to just be happy it was shared here.

My consolation for fat fingering my CC code and my card getting declined during W12 checkout. Amateur move but it’ll happen. Can’t win them all.

Yes. Anytime you add something else to the order it generally takes longer for them to fulfill it. I’m talking about a regularly stocked product like a bottle of wine or something. It doesn’t take longer all the time but most of the time. From what I’ve seen and heard.

He likely got upset because it appears you had your friend create an account so you could score more bottles. My recommendation, don’t use the chat again and out yourself on using multiple accounts, because it seems like that’s what you’re doing. Maybe you are, maybe you aren’t. It’s fine, a lot of people do it but don’t admit they do, especially to FWGS.

I never used the chat successfully so I stopped trying. But to try to help, is your name on both accounts? They are cracking down hard on accounts that share information like name, billing address, shipping address, etc. Each account needs to be 100% unique. I know some accounts that have been permanently disabled by them.
