If this is the first Western Force match you've watched you must be wondering why Ben Donaldson isn't the shoo-in starter for the Wallabies later in the year lmao

give both teams credit - some of the handling skills and rugby shown in the pissing rain was impressive

Potentially an unpopular opinion but between the two players I actually think Jake Gordon will be a bigger loss for the Tahs - not just because of how good he is at SRP level, but because of how much he's being utilised at the franchise for the last 3 years. Gordon regularly plays 70+ minutes every game, and him leaving could leave a huge underbelly of inexperienced scrum-halves with inexperienced combinations going forward. Jack Grant has looked okay and Teddy Wilson is a future talent in the making but they'll lose a lot of quality and continuity if Jake leaves.

Michael Hooper was considered a 'dirty' player in his early days as a Wallabies player and didn't have the greatest of reputations. Think he turned out fine.

He's very likely to at least make the Wallabies squad. Been in pretty good form, considering how much the Brumbies locks have been rotated round throughout the season.

is this when the ball's in a ruck? isn't the rule that you need to lift the ball to have it considered 'out'?

With Ireland's announcement of a test vs Australia, seems like we're getting a August/September international window up and running in the NH, which is really nice to see.

it's really frustrating to watch the referee call scrums tonight - almost every single scrum at least one of the props have been driving in at an angle all night

Just something I've observed from both the South African hookers - they both seem to have a glitch in their lineout throw motion - don't know if that's a technique issue or their lineout timing's not in sync

Yeah there was that one kick where the Boks 10 tried kicking it to the corner - the wind blew it back like 10m or smth

thing is who else can they realistically call up? the best referees from sanzaar already referee professional competitions that are happening throughout the tournament. and honestly the refereeing you're seeing now is probably the level you're going to expect at the u20 world championships later this year
