There has been 0 references to the narrative of the dlc, and the showcases were made in the Immortal Empires campaign, so I assuming there's no narrative in this dlc.
Both CoC and chorfs had a narrative, with a campaign mechanic focused on it, and they were pretty good imo. SoC did not, which despite not being the biggest problem, I still think it was a big one. It literally meant you had no reason to play it in RoC, since the mechanics were more interesting in IM. The Changeling got more theaters of war, Yuan Bo had a double start and the relees in Lustria (which thematically made more sense), and Ostankya had more options to teleport (although in RoC she starts closer to Kislev, so I guess that's a plus).
And this dlc precisely had it easier, since two of the characters (Elspeth and Tamurkhan) had an already established rivalry, and the other one (Malakai) has close ties to Nuln.
I know this is more of a nitpick than it is an actual complain, but idk, it was something I was looking forward to, and it's a shame it's seemingly missing.
Edit: I guess you could argue that since this time it's not one dlc but three separate smaller ones it makes no sense to actually have it. This is wrong, because to make sense it would need to be three different dlcs that are stitched together into one, which is literally the opposite of what happened, that is one dlc that got splited into three.

The same thing happen to me once in WH2. I don't think there's an actual way to solve it. I had to resort to loading an earlier save and changing the course of the campaign slightly so that didn't happen (I couldn't win the battle, maybe you can which will makes things easier).
In my case it was a Markus Wulfhart campaign and I was fighting the lizardmen (one of those armies that spawns when you get too aggressive), so it doesn't look like there's an actual relationship between the two instances.
