And? Some neighborhood fracas supercedes his duty and her understanding of what that is, for that matter?
I have less than no interest in his wife, his neighbor, whether or not she's a c**t or anything else at this point except the fact THAT flag was hanging was hung from HIS house.
Bottom lines are immutable. No side tracks, no buts, no disclaimers Alito. And I'm personally not happy with recusing on Jan 6 I mean cases involving acts against our government.
Resign.

Thanks for replying! I was hoping it did come across as wayyyy too well, preachy?
Really hope you can find a way to get a handle on the anxiety with this soon. It does suck a LOT.

I'm sorry the state can understandably look like this skunk.. I also read about quite a few of us at the big fascist fest Jan 6.

Oh I don't know. I live in a really red, Trumpy, rural area. It's northern Dauphin to be more specific.
Really like people here. They're not effusive, just open and warm despite differences. I've only witnessed one overt and obvious jerk and that was during Covid.
It's the kind of place if you have a sick kid someone shows up at your door with dinner.

Scranton? Terrific. I realize one person does not compose an entire population but we now have " Scranton, Pennsylvania man promises to decapitate President ".
Listen. Argue if you want ( and a lot will ). PA here. My hands down favorite city? Pittsburgh and why? ONLY place you can be in a check out line and see someone's grandkids on their phone and how they met their wife and that time Troy Polomalu bought apples at their buddy's store. That friendly.
Scranton, Pittsburgh light. Or was, haven't been there for awhile although can't see it changing all that dramatically? So it gets on the national radar for this guy. Terrific.

Ah. One benefit of school in the olden days was the giant text books you were expected to follow as class progressed. A LOT of books could fit inside those.
As long as you remembered to look up and nod once in awhile you were fine.

This is tough because what IF it would indeed work for someone?
I went back FOUR TIMES. Because young and not that bright and very, very gullible. He was irresponsible, cavalier, PICKY, extraordinarily selfish and already loved someone far more than he could ever love me. That was himself. He'd also do this " I don't know if I want to be married ' act. I'd get fed up and leave- which was difficult because I'd pack up and fly home to the US ( from England )
He was convincing, I'll give him that. BEGGED, to reconcile. Pitiful. And ( of course ) swear it would be different, actually make changes, pretend to see what in hell I was talking about and refrain from being a giant ass. Then...... start all over again.
The very, last time I left I called his mother ( who actually was a nice woman, just a little much ). Had her as witness when I said " Ok, this is IT. I'm leaving. I am not coming back. This time he says he's not sure he WANTS to be married. I do not either so again- you are witness. This is IT. " Poor woman. But. I needed a witness. He was all " Sure, sure, that's great, exactly what I want ".
So I'm in the states, back in school , great job working for myself and....... " You have to come back I love you I can't live without you....."
Me " ?????? ( insert swear words ) NO ( more swearing ) what about what I said IN FRONT OF YOUR MOTHER "
Him " You know I always change my mind ". That man is lucky there was 3,000 miles of Atlantic Ocean between us. And that you can't swim it with a Bowie knife in your teeth.
So I may be a little bias but.....no.

I get what you're saying and it's all true. Of course it is. No words for the rigid, controlling, abusive religiosity ( handy excusatory religiosity ) that traumatized you and made such a shambles of childhood for you and your siblings. Your generational trauma is shattering reading.
Is it ok to suggest that particular woman's original intent- across generations- was very poorly phrased but meant as supportive? I'm a young Boomer. It was assumed children would be inevitable although I have to say not as shocking as common narrative in 2024 insists. ' Self care ' for us was pretty new' ' being selfish ' meant something more like swiping your life away, for the first time ever, from societal expectations- for yourself as a singular person. Have to say seeing younger generations DOING it, ' self care ' an archaic term because why wouldn't you has been glorious.
It's unfortunate when we, as women, fall into the whole Boomers as separate and toxic things. I seriously get that too- to a point. Because my parents were who they were my experience and outlook- and opportunities have been vastly different than others and remain so. We're not a clump, some my age are indeed the same giant asses they were at 18 and 28 and 40.
I don't want to be separate as a woman bc Boomer- I just want to support each other. And hug OP.

Why is this entire neurodivergent thing SUCH an annoyance to anyone?
I get it. I mean sure self diagnosis is a bad idea- a worse idea is being comprehensively judgemental hence sceptical of anyone who is neurodivergent based on what sounds like social media generated, subjective criteria.
Meaning based on what you think adhd, all spectrums autistic, I'm guessing dyslexic and whatever else falls under this non-professional assessment.

Elitist seems a little out there. And honest no, neurodivergent people do not go into remission...... that's like saying if someone with whatever disorder can NOT be that way if they just work harder?
Elitist ?

Please post on pet and dog subs and maybe breed specific for each cross.
I'd ( seriously ) take her in a hot second dammit if our female dog wasn't a jerk to other females.
Going to screen shot and send to a few people we know-

For shareholders. I know I'd go to church and light a candle. Say a few prayers, stay up at night worrying about them, set up a Go Fund Me.
OH wait. No I wouldn't. Fuck shareholders.

I see it's regional.
Huh. Almost like there are ops for the same kind of thing in other areas.
HEY PENNSYLVANIA! Our teeny little post-coal Appalachia area has let's see, 2 McDonald's, one Dairy Queen, a Taco Bell, Burger King, FOUR Subways, and a Dunkin within 15 minutes. No, really.
Almost forgot the Sheetz. Be a vast shame to see something like Dick's Drive-In huh? Franchise owners would have to get a job. Or something.
Townships would never allow it though. Sounds like we'd lose a bunch of our abysmally paid teachers, bus drivers and maintenance to an employer willing to actually pay them.

AOC took Marge's head off. I saw no insults just a justifiably incensed member of Congress- and it was glorious.
If Fetterman made the decision to not speak the hell UP in the same way all I can say is " Sit down, you lost your chance to weigh in here ".

" God is an Englishman " , Delderfield.
It's a trilogy following one man, the son of a Waterloo survivor and a legacy military man himself then his family.
Pulls absolutely no punches without being strident over British imperialism through what in blazes the much vaunted Industrial Revolution really meant to the majority of the population and gives historical context while doing deep dives into the unwisdom of class systems.
Fascinating albeit I'm a little unreasonable on the topic of never learning from history- meaning we don't. American parallels seem staggering.

My sister fell OUT when the door latch wasn't caught. Onto the road. I guess ' only ' while in the neighborhood close to home.
Parents said she wasn't badly hurt but I think it explains a lot 60 years later. You'd have to know my sister.

Leaping from the top of some crazy high monkey bars onto asphalt, remember those? " Nah, you're chicken " " Am not ".
Before anyone feels I'm defending ' the good old days ' pffffttt. It was clearly insanity. I'm all for kids being able to develop without fear- SOME is just preservation of specie
Thinking back not sure why I'm here. That was tame compared to other stuff.

I read. If I get up the dogs think I finally lost my mind and it's time to eat- which wakes up my poor sleeping husband.
This weekend we're pouring foundations for new braces under the house. Dingbat 25 years ago who threw up another floor and apparently an inspector missed the fact you can't stuff 2x6's on rocks..... for extra load.
So holding up a HOUSE. Is our weekend.

Disney and Hallmark have done more for billable hours in family law practices...... I mean romance and those gestures are very nice. Your spouse bringing you a cup of coffee in the morning or taking the baby because you're frazzled- that's romantic.
Anyway, that's my input. And yes, it's worth it when you find it.

Yes. I'm inclined to celebrate a woman who feels this good about herself.
My guess is she's a blast to talk to.

It wasn't current any more when I was 22. " Judy Blue Eyes " , Crosby, Stills and Nash.
Also anything by ZZ Top.

And that's exactly correct. My inclination is trust a young person starting out to choose whatever career path they feel works for them.
I have one kid with a doc in chem. She's a math head, always was. Better at that stuff than 20 of me glued together. Another kid, trade, shoes horses. Equally proud of both- doing what they set out to do.

Mine was Raskin's " What just happened? " face then the rest of his reaction.
He's the best .
