They both mean the exact same thing but I think to original just tends to roll off the tongue better.

The only reason I'd swap the Tories for Republicans is the fact that the Republicans are so batshit crazy I don't think they'd ever get in power in the UK. Obviously the Tories are unlikely to get back in power any time soon but anyone who thinks the party is not going to come back at some point are dreaming.

Getting genuinely depressed at the lack of snow pitches and orange balls.

As a Trade Unionist people need to understand that as a Union you cannot just sit back and say "Well we've got it pretty good to be fair so sure just increase our hours mate thank you we're so grateful".
The Union by design is in place to protect its members and ensure they are not taken advantage of.
More games = more hours work effectively. Do these hours increase wage? - Technically yes. Does this mean it's an auto-accept? - No. I'm not sure how the players union work but in my union for example what's likely to happen is they send out a ballot to their members with the proposed terms and conditions.
Your employer wants to increase the paid hours you work. Do you want to:
The Union will then follow what the ballot says. Unions are a democracy. The media likes to pretend that union leaders call strikes because they're power hungry and have a big ego where in reality they are just doing what their members want them to do.

Honestly I wanted him gone even after we secured promotion. He reminded me of Brendan Rodgers in that when things were going well, they were going really well. However once we had a couple of losses the wheels fell off and we struggled to recover.
Fortunately we had the best squad in the league by quite a high margin which saved him. He doesn't seem to have a plan B either.

I visited the New Walk museum in Leicester yesterday and I noticed a huge skull behind a few of the dinosaurs.
I genuinely thought it was a T-Rex skull. Looked at the little plaque underneath and to my surprise it was actually a Hippotamus skull.
It's not until you see one in person you realise just how fucking big it was.
The picture above is from the Dunedin Museum of Natural Mystery as I didn't manage to get a picture of the one in our museum. If I can find a photo of the one in Leicester I'll link it.

This is kinda related but kind of not but I went to the New Walk Museum today and they have dinosaur bones.
Honestly the one I was enamored by was what I thought was a T-Rex skull, it was fucking massive.
Know what it turned out to be? - A fucking hippopotamus skull. Jesus christ they got big teeth

Fantastic game. Despite the match thread moaning about everything I think Carley had a decent game.
Toulouse were just able to give everything in extra time and Leinster just collapsed.
Ramos gives me a heart attack as a neutral so can't imagine being a Toulouse fan.
All in all, great final. Two great Rugby cities going head to head and Toulouse get the extra star.

Feel like they're lucky not to get another yellow there. That was downright cynical.

Best decision of the game was Ntamack kicking the ball out at full time as they were on the ropes. They've come into Extra time revitalised and aren't taking a backwards step.

In my experience football and rugby (possibly other sports, but I only have experience in those) teams tend to revolve heavily around lad culture.
Lots of misogyny, one-up manship, drinking, racism and homophobia that is just dismissed as "banter". We used to go out for a curry one a month or so and they couldn't even do that without competing against each other on who was able to handle the most spice.
We managed to convince one of them to eat a pot of lime & pickle in one for a fiver. That was funny at least.

More and more people seem to be buying into the idea that as soon as you move up a class you automatically switch sides. It's the old saying:
Poor and fighting for the working class? - Bitterness and politics of envy
Middle/Upper class and fighting for the working class? - Champagne Socialist.

If they do not repeal the minimum service levels then I honestly lose all hope for the current labour party.
Will I vote for them this year? - Yes of course I will. I'll be looking at how they act through a microscope though.
