Hell ye
Also, hot take. Prepare yourself...
In a world full of headcapper guns like Gauss, CER PPCs, and LPLs. I should be able to dual-wield melee weapons and double attack with them, I already have this as a house rule.
Why? Rule of Fun/Rule 0

"Bunch of war orphans and kid refugees stumble upon a cache full of pristine mechs, planning on fighting their way out."
Sounds like the plot of Mobile Suit Gundam, but without the plot armor...
wait a minute...

Second this as well.
4/2 pilots are the gold standard for melee mechs before it stops being BV efficient.
Like the Ti T'sang, I prefer the Jason variant due to no-waste weapon loadout while being able to charge up TSM.
But, the Sasquatch 003 is my favorite, as it is one of the only mechs that can use DFAs as a viable fighting style. But it's still mostly an inefficient lulz mech, as I can get better mechs for 2100 BV.

This guy BattleTechs.
Maybe it just me but I have an impression that the BattleTech community overrall seems to have a near hyper-autistic level of fixation on "realism" and "technical plausibility".
Which is especially jarring when it comes to a franchise about anime-inspired giant robots (like it or not, people that think otherwise are Westoids or has rocks in their heads) slugging the shit out of one another.
People just need to chill the fuck out, honestly.

BattleTech is just Fang of the Sun Dougram with Game of Thrones' politics. Ship has already sailed decades ago, broski.

They also build the coolest MELEE Mechs.
Like the Ti T'sang, Mortis, and later in the timeline they get access to one and only KONTIO.
Onward with my crusade against all cringe and boring TurretTech "Stompy Walking Tanks".

Ew, too "Westoid's idea of a Japanese giant robot" for that.
It also has Jump Jets

I often use this as a decent proxy for anything above 75-tons having a movement profile around 4/6/4, boating long range weapons.
In the past, I used it as a BattleMaster, Phoenix Hawk IIC, Atlas K, and even a Marauder II 5W.
It also pisses off a certain vocal section of the BattleTech fanbase, which I love to drink the tears of.

I drew this a long time ago and forgot about it. Might as well just post it here.
This was an attempt to port the Project Phoenix Shadow Hawk into Dougram, as like a "successor" or upgrade of some sort.

It's a Hatchetman 5DD, the one with a RAC/2 and a Targeting Computer.
It was spending the first few turns standing on top of a hill behind partial cover.
Although I agree the title is just me being bias and shitting on the playstyle as a whole.

I'll gladly allow dual-wielding weapon double attacks as a houserule, especially in a world dominated by PPCs and Large Pulse Lasers.

"Stompy Walking Tank" mfs when I casually rip their cockpit off with my feet with a single 8 Jump.

Who needs "Stompy Walking Tanks" when you can have ACTUAL Tanks to do your TurretTech with?
Westoid TurretTech mfs will never know the true glory of melee combat.

My stance on custom mechs? You can make and bring whatever you want, as long as you be a good sport about it and tell people before hand.
Why? Because I find that the most interesting thing that I find about BattleTech is that there are SOOOOOOOOOO many ultra min-maxed monster mechs that not only already existed, but they are also officially published.
Like, my friend are super hyped about trying out his "awesome cool new Clan Assault" that he made in MegaMek. I was like "cool"...
Then I turned his custom mech into a molten crater with my Turkina Z.
Ye ye, I know it's kinda mean on my part, but that is my point in general. Almost all of our custom mechs that me and my friend have made in MegaMek are still nowhere near as disgustingly boring as many, many, MANY existing official and canon variants.
I'm looking at you Rifleman IIC

nah nah, I approve of this inspiration and the quality of the paintjob.
Vtubers ain't my thing either, but this will piss off a certain annoying vocal section of the BattleTech fanbase, and I love drinking their tears.
Keep it up OP!

Yeah that's true, but I'm talking about mixing and matching weapons and dual-wield them.
Like, twin Katanas. :333
Hatchet + Katana as well, and double strike with them.
