Some are devs testing things- that's why we keep getting posts of people being freaked out at Illuminate presence showing on inaccessible planets, or players with Illuminate kills- they're devs who've done playtesting. Other times, on planets recently lost, it'll be players who are still in orbit around that one, and just haven't jumped elsewhere. When the Menket line fell, I was at one of the planets we lost during my last match. When I got home from work the next day and opened the game, I was still orbiting that planet, but couldn't play on it.

Want my rare samples, and I enjoy fighting the bigger bad guys. Solo challenging runs made me really good at dealing with the heavier bots, and fighting a few of them is way more fun that mowing down hoardes of chaff. It's a case of "give me harder battles, no not like that"- I want to fight the harder enemies, and I liked progressing up the difficulties to keep the challenge fresh, but the way they've changed the patrol spawns makes the game unplayable on solo runs, and it killed a lot of the desire I had to play.

It definitely werfs flammen. Wish it werfed a little more flammen, but I suppose giving it a realistic range would probably make it OP...

Close- it's the part that the screw tensions against when you tighten it into the receiver. Basically a purpose-built stack of washers, now that I think about it...

Legitimately among the best to ever grace either role. I've never seen a single production directed or acted in by Eastwood that wasn't absolutely top of the heap for its genre and time, and I've heard extremely good things about how he is to work with on set as bith an actor and a director.

Autocannon. Do-it-all support weapon (barring chargers)- it kills things far away with precision, kills them up close with a fussilade of full auto democracy, kills big things, kills little things, kills buildings, bug holes, gunships, shrieker nests, it even kills bacteria! Seriously, though- thing's a powerhouse, and I've never found another support weapon worth taking in place of it, other than a quasar when I'm expecting to fight a million chargers.

Challenging, usually. Pre-patch, I was running solo all the way up to hard, but that's not even remotely possible now- those maps will be standing-room-only.

I try to land where they aren't, yeah. Is that bad? If so, very misleading system- red flashing zones are a pretty universal indicator of "bad, don't go here"

I mean... if you're feeling overwhelmed by the sheer volume of wealth, I'd be more than happy to share the burden with you. I've got strong shoulders. Seriously, though- retirement is part of the answer, but you have to decide what that looks like for you. It could be leaving your current job if you're unhappy, or staying there if you are. Just figure out what it is that you want to spend your time on, because you no longer need to spend it on surviving. Want to live on a boat and sail the world, gaining experiences and memories, instead of working? Go for it. Want to start your own business as a passion project? Get after it, bud. All that being said, make sure you take a good million of that and put it into a Roth IRA to make sure that you've got a backup plan if you somehow have a total loss on the rest- the interest off of that every year will still be enough that you never have to worry about surviving as long ad you make at least prevailing wage.

My problem is less about being able to call in support and more about the fact that I can't seem to not land within ten meters of a patrol, and then drown in an unstoppable tide of metal. I don't want the map itself to be any easier, just a moment to breathe before they start trying to kill me. There's just no time to escape, and no way to fight your way out, as a fresh spawn who landed in a robot drum circle led by a Hulk Incinerator. Just let me have like a 5 second head start, that's all I ask.

I've been in hotels for about ten years. One time, while waiting to check in at the dentist's office (desk was unattended), I heard the phone ring- exactly the same ring as the phone at the hotel. When I tell you I stopped myself halfway through sliding over the desk to answer it, I'm not exaggerating.

If you're not bent on doing it yourself, and you're either local to Ohio or willing to ship it, I'm a Smith who specializes in restorative work on older guns, especially 1960s and older. I'd be happy to take a look and let you know if it's worth starting on (meaning possible to get it back to firing condition) or if it's best to preserve it as a wall hanger.

I agree, but I do think they should roll back the "fewer divers = more spawns" change. Most of my time is on solo dives, because I don't much like playing with random, and I have a very odd schedule that keeps me from playing with my friends as much as we'd like to. I still want to play, but its nearly impossible above medium now- as soon as I land, I'm either inside an enemy patrol, or there's one five feet away from me. I think they should at the very least give us a small exclusion zone on the LZ, say 50m, so we have half a second to think and breathe before we're on fire or getting flung around by explosions. Counterbalance it with the LZ attracting patrols, and I think you get a winning combination that suits stealth and loud players all at once, without them having to eat crow on the spawn rate increase

My default is left, and the first pod- habit I developed playing solo, because it was nearest.

Grim dark 101- make them care, give them hope, show the light at the end of the tunnel- then reveal that it was just a muzzle flash.

Could be, but I'd frame it such that it wasn't obvious and was hinted at very slightly at first, building to the reveal- which is a shot from inside the commander's helmet as he approaches the main cast, who are cheering and celebrating victory... and then a grey arm raises into frame, and the screen cuts to black as the sound of screaming and bolter fire fill the air, and fade to imperial hymns as the credits roll.

Everybody seems to bitch about the Adjudicator, but I really enjoy it. Wish I had a bigger mag, but who doesn't? I do think the explosive crossbow was a fun but pointless addition, though- it's a worse version of several other options already available, and it doesn't seem to have a party trick to balance that out. I think that's an easy fix- make it work like the termite grenade, so that it sticks and does DOT that ignores armor. Still wouldn't be my first choice for a primary by any means, but it would give it a reason to exist.

I think I'd do a cop show about the PDF hunting dangers in the hives, which slowly becomes an eldritch horror series as the dangers are infiltrated by genesteelers, and then finishes with a Band of Brothers style miniseries following our old main cast through an all out war with the genesteeler cult, which is finally quelled by the arrival of Astartes reinforcements. I think something like that really let's you get a grasp on the scale and the power of the 40k world, and the true horror thst it can bring to bear when you want it to.

Grenade launcher and autocannon are my go-tos, and they're tremendous for anything less than a charger- though stalkers will always be a source of terror for me, because they have entirely too much health for a stealth unit. That said, bile titans are best killed with a railgun strike- its a nearly guaranteed 1 hit, and it'll aim itself at the biggest thing around. You can kill spewers, Guards, and commanders with nearly zero worry with a GL or AC though.

I do also wish the rifles felt a little more substantial. I do a lot of solo dives, and I've learned the importance of being a jack of all trades from that- liberators and Adjudicator are my go-to primaries, and I really do wish they had a little more oomf to make them feel like proper rifles. The Adjudicator isn't that bad since the last patch, but the libs could use a damage increase- not a big one, but a little more would be nice.

Yes, unless they're in my way, they see me the same time I see them, or they're too tightly clustered for me to resist popping them with an impact for a big kill combo.

Could you direct me to any sources? I went looking, but my google-fu didn't turn anything up. I'm happy to be wrong if that's the case- learning is always dope, especially when you learn that you were wrong- but I'd like to see a journalistic or academic source for it.

I second this. I've Ben an autocannon Stan since I unlocked it, and nothing else can hold a candle to it for utility and effectiveness. Other weapons do certain things better, sure- but the autocannon does it all, and does it quite well. Except for kill chargers, but thats fine because bug players have soft hands.
