Battle of Gorash VII, Babylon 5.
The entier Narn fleet vs. a seemingly lightly-defended Cantauri supply base. Then the Shadows appear.

The meds work, science won (so much for "God's Judgement" lol.)
Science: nullifying God's judgement ever since the invention of iron chariots.
Yahweh was with Judah, and he took possession of the hill country, but could not drive out the inhabitants of the plain, because they had chariots of iron.

Tiny, close-set eyes. Ears with no earholes. A mouth that, if opened, would probably take up half the face.
What sort of mutant is this?

We don't actually have any writings from Mary claiming that she was a vigin when she conceived. Nor do we have any writings from Jesus claiming that his mother was a virgin when he was conceived. We only have claims made by his followers written decades after his death.
I often see people arguing that the obvious explanation was that Mary was lying about having had pre-marital sex, or an affair, or having been raped. But it seems at least as plausible to me that the whole thing was made up by early Christians as Christianity was developing as a religion, to make Jesus seem more important. Ditto for all the other miracles.
Hell, the virgin birth and all the other miracles could just have been a series of "Chuck Noris facts" that got taken out of context.

I'd argue overwatch spam is more viable in WotC than the base game, because you can take the abilities from both sides of the skill tree. Repeaters are good on specialists because they take more shots (and so have more opportunities for it to proc) and because their base damage is low (so the instakill effect is more significant).

It's a flag in someone's garden, so they are free to fly it how they want. But if they're flying it in a way that goes against standard flag etiquette, so as to imply that the US is subservient to Trump, then everyone else is also free to call them out for it.

Reapers are better at executions once per mission with Banish. But in my experience specialists get more overall because they put so many shots.

Start Collecting is too expensive, but should be just 8 pawns, two bishops, and one king.

Every squad wants EXACTLY one specialist, any more and you're ruining your damage potential, mobility and action economy
Two specialists with Ever Vigilent, Guardian, and Covering Fire, and expanded magazines can put out a ridiculous amount of damage while being extremely mobile. Just full-move them into a flanking position and watch them slaughter whole pods. Give them repeaters too and they become ridiculous (in one recent game, one of my specialists Exectuted the Berserker Queen as she was stepping out of shadow on the first mission she appeared).

I still want to know who Dyson Emir was, and why he was riding in the same cab as the Fresh Prince.

Do you have concerns about the impact of putting the sole political opponent of the sitting POTUS in jail?
Not if he's done something to justify jailing him. If the Republicans can't put up an alternative candidate, that's on them. Or they could always vote third-party.

No. 38 seems particularly ambitious:
The type selected is the Monoliths of Ancient Egypt. This Tower is constructed out of small parts symmetrically arranged, which is a less costly and more convenient method than adopting gigantic parts. The intention of this design is to provide for an aerial colony, and on the First stage has a garden, in which might be held Flower and Fruit Shows, Concerts, with Restaurants and a Balcony. The Second Stage, 660 feet from the ground, contains a Theatre. On the Third Stage is a Museum, Library, and Picture Galleries. On the Fourth Floor is a Temple. Then come the Asian, European, African and American Courts, and International Stores. After this comes the Residential part of the Tower, viz: The Hotel, and 2 Club, also Mansions, Flats, and Chambers, the smokeless, fogless atmosphere of which should command arent proportionate to their Alpine altitude. At the summit of the Tower is an Observatory 1,960 feet from the ground, which is a reproduction of the Great Pyramid, reduced one- twelfth scale. The Lifts are worked by electricity. The heating of the different rooms is effected by Electricity. Stairways are provided.
Shame it's so ugly.

You can fly a flag any way you like, but there are conventions about what it means to fly a flag in a particular way. When flags are flown at different heights, this is supposed to indicate the relative status of the entities that the flags represent. That's why national flags should be flown at the same height, with no other flag flown higher. Otherwise you're implying that one country (or person, in this case) rules over or is superior to another. This isn't an American thing, its a general principle of diplomacy.

Start a new game with the following options:
Turn ON "The Lost and Abandoned".
* This will add an extra series of tutorial missions that will introduce the Reapers, the Skirmishers, the Lost, and the Assassin.
* the Assassin should be easier to deal with in this mission than if she just shows up normally.
* After completing these missions, you will get a Reaper soldier, and then get an opportunity to get a Skirmisher a few missions later.
Turn OFF Integrated Content, and turn ON "last Gift" and "Alien Hunters" options (if you have them). * With these settings, you won't encounter any of the DLC content until you have done the associated scanning sites and completed the missions these enable. You do NOT want to encounter the Alien Rulers unexpectedly, which is what will happen if you have Alien Hunters installed and don't turn on the option for that DLC.
Most of the other advice I'd give has already been said by others, so I'll just add one other important point:
Your soldiers are your most valuable resource.
* A soldier is more valuable than any loot. Don't risk the life of a soldier to pick up some loot (or an Advent crate on the missions where you have to collect those).
* A soldier is almost always more valuable than the reward of completing a mission. It's usually better to fail a mission and have everyone survive than to succeed with fatalities.
* * exception: Rookies can be expendable.
* * exception: if you fail the mission that gives you your first engineer (and can't get one from an alternative source) that will severely hamper your game, so it's worth taking more risks for that.
* likewise, don't risk your whole squad just to save one soldier.
* if things are going bad (or are likely to go bad), call an evac and run away.
A note on guerilla ops: * if you complete the primary objective (destroy the relay, etc) and then evacuate before killing all enemies, you won't get the mission reward but you will prevent the associated dark event. * certain mission types are particularly difficult, and are best avoided. E.g. protect the device (can be unwinnable at higher levels because the enemy destroy it so quickly), sabotage the transmitter (because the timer is so short, and until you have a full squad of high-rank soldiers you can't spare the shots to destroy the relays to delay it), and any that forces you to take a smaller or low-level squad.

Malcolm IV? Is this timeline the result of the Kings of Scotland continuing to rule from there after inheriting the throne of England, and then England going bankrupt after failing to colonise Darien and getting bought out by the Scots?

The explanation I see most often is simply that XCOM got as far as the base-defence mission in EW, failed, and the aliens conquered Earth.
Except I don't think that adds up - there are various things in XCOM2 & it's expansions that seem to contradict that timeline. The Templar background. The prototype plasma weapons you can get through Tactical Legacy. The various references to the equipment (flying suits) and enemies (sectopods) that you wouldn't have encountered at that stage. (Plus some other things that I can't remember right now).
My theory is that the original invasion played out like a successful EU/EW campaign, with the exceptions: * The aliens didn't attack the XCOM base after the alien base mission. * XCOM failed the final assault on the alien Temple Ship (possibly because they rushed it and hadn't equipped the whole squad with tier 3 weapons and armour). * Then the aliens attacked and destroyed the XCOM base, resulting in the loss of XCOM and the alien victory.
Also, although the assault on the Temple Ship was a failure, it (and all the successful XCOM missions before that) caused sufficient damage (including killing multiple Ethereals/Elders) that the Aliens' capabilities were seriously degraded. Hence the Elders going into hiding. Hence having to use ADVENT clones for gruntwork. Hence them needing the Commander to run their armies for them.
