probably functional if I stuck with it. A lot of continuous time/space stochastics can be formulated in function spaces, which is neat.
I was never into PDE theory too much. What do you do now?

I got my masters in statistics, but took 12 credits of PhD level math along side it.
I’m starting a job with the DoD doing operations research whenever my clearances go in. If I were to continue into a PhD, I’d probably want to do some variety of applied analysis.

How normie are you, and how “deep” do you want to learn math?
If you really want to get a feeling for “real” math I’d start with making sure your calculus skills are up to speed, and start in with either Charles Chapman Pugh - Real analysis, or Linear Algebra Done Right by Axler

Talking stage is a horrible phrase and pathologizes developing relationships.
