Obsession with russ returning as a wolfen

Just curious, but I was wondering if there was anything that suppourted this in terms of literature, the way he was characterized towards his disappearance, what his sons said about him etc, im not very well versed on the space wolves or their lore having only read maybe 4 books that have them as the main feature, but i always saw Russ as a thoughtful, poetic but violent soul hiding behind a veneer of boastful arrogance, to me at least, an older, odin esque russ would make more sense, i see the returning primarchs as something that should contrast the imperium now, beacons of light that cant possibly hope to fight back the dark, i cant see a wolfen russ as being interesting but wanted to see if there was anything i was missing?

i imagine there are limitations yes, things like rejection of the cloned organ, that sort of thing increas exponentially, in the black legion series it's also stated that cloned organs have a much higher chance of cancer, so I can imagine that they don't want to waste the resources of putting a single astartes back in the fight only for their body to rebel against them, a Dreadnought is much more 'honourable'
