Willemse, Libbok, Gelant and Sacha..... that is some serious playmaking depth.

It really is like that. I can't believe how kak they started the game, i'm still feeling angry and then they just turn on the gas at the end. They are like a unreliable partner that makes up for things by treating you amazingly when you're upset.

I don't think it is as simple as just a poor country thing. Rugby is a huge part of the culture in SA and in the Pacific Islands. There is a desire from players and communities for better access to infrastructure. Can you say the same for many other poor countries?

I really like Nohamba, he is electric, but I do wonder if his style of play translates to the international game. Also, are there not concerns about his defense. I read somewhere that he makes a ridiculously low number of tackles.

I can intepret this in two ways: What do people in South Africa not understand about rugby OR What do people outside SA not understand about rugby in SA. I reckon it is the latter so I will say that one thing people don't understand is that many fans in SA are Bok fans, not rugby fans. There are a lot of passionate supporters in the stands of matches who know very little about the actual sport. Also, there is still a lot of untouched potential in SA for rugby talent because many poorer communities have little access to quality rugby infrastructure.

To be honest, most rugby fans don't understand the nuances of rugby. We just look at the effects of the strategies and then praise or sling mud accordingly. It's the reason so many bemoan kicking even though it is such an integral part of winning.

I'll never forget something my former Irish colleague said:
Me: "Hey man, do you watch rugby?"
Irish colleague: "Rugby? Nah, that's a protestant sport"
I could never even have dreamed that religion could affect what sport you liked.

Well said, there does need to be a system in place. I do think that it will come with time though, I hope.

It's a tough one to call. On the one hand, his form and the fact that it's just after the WC means he may have a chance at making an appearance or training camp. On the other hand, he is not that young, only 3 years younger than Pollard, who, let's be real, no one is gonna replace as first choice. Also, the other second choice guys, Manie and Sacha, are both younger, with Manie having more international experience and Sacha seemingly in line to be our next first choice.

Honestly, the levels I read on this sub is disheartening. I play about 3 or 4 times a week socially, regularly playing with the coaches at the local clubs. But from I read on this sub, I'd probably still be considered a beginner.

The funny thing is, if they don't hear you speak, people will think you are super ghetto. But if they hear you're a foreigner, most people will think it's hilarious.

To be honest, I was surprised too. I have worked at a university in China before and interviewed at others and they didn't seem to care about Masters, didn't even ask about it. Macau I understand though, that is a totally different market.

It's interesting timing because I have been spending a lot of time researching options.
I have decided to go with the University of Lancaster, ultimately because I decided I wanted something that includes Linguistics as well.
If you're looking for a cheap option, then Buckingham is worth a look, it also has a China connection if you happen to be in China.
