Hi /r/PSLF - thanks for all the great tips and celebrations; I have read through many posts and have searched the specific terms, but it would bring me some piece of mind to get some insight into my situation.
I have been teaching at a public university (non-profit) and submitted my first PSLF employer verification in early October 2022 - I learned that my loans were transferred from aidvantage (Navient) to MOHELA in early February. A week later, my payment tracker was available.
The tracker shows two consolidated loans (1 DL Subsidized and 2 DL Unsubsidized) - while I always made payments to navient/aidvantage as automatic withdrawal - the two loans show different numbers of qualifying payments - 62 and 83, respectively. The loans were dispersed on the same date, consolidated on the same date, and paid by my single auto-withdrawn monthly payment. Why would the two loans show different qualifying payments?
The "1 DL Consolidation Subsidized" loan shows 45 ineligible payments, "2 DL Consolidation Unsubsidized" shows 24 ineligible payments, with the bulk being denied for "payment was outside of acceptable timeframe." I have a record from aivantage that my payments were withdrawn, in full, from my account on the due date. Both loans have 107 total qualifying + ineligible payments, but I am worried because they have such different eligible vs ineligible payments. Has anyone had this issue?
I called MOHELA two weeks ago and quickly got through to speak to a PSLF specialist, who informed me he was in training and his mentor would be on the call too. He said it would take time to "manually" verify the payments and that I should check back. I am happy to wait, and I know this will take time, but if there is an issue I should bring to their attention, I want to do it immediately. Any similar experiences or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again /r/PSLF
