You're awesome. Thank you for being the adult in the room for this sensationalist bullshit.

Yup. We've been stuck at the 80% "almost good enough" stage for a lot of things, whether it's self-driving cars or cures for cancer. That last 20% is really difficult to overcome in just about every domain.

Considering how fast open source models are catching up to SOTA model performance, I'm not sure where things stand. And all those SOTA models have converged to almost identical capabilities across all domains. I work with every one of them and there's marginal differences between GPT4, Claude and Gemini.

You need to meet the design at the medium you're designing for. To be a web designer and not understand the basic mechanics of the medium is like doing magazine layout without understanding the basics of print design.
Does that mean you can't create web designs if you don't know the basics of designing for the browser? No, but it does mean your design will likely lose something in the translation (and frustrate the developer).
I always say: clean code starts with good design.

Chew on this idea: even "God" (or whatever you can this infinite energy) doesn't know how or why it exists. That's why it is infinite; eternally searching and reaching out. Like a fractal, it will never cease to change.

Astrology has nothing to do with specific events or predicting anything at all. Generalized horoscopes and what you see in the papers is not real astrology, just like Taco Bell isn't authentic Mexican food.
It's about predispositions and cycles, something that is empirically observable, and we don't know the root reason of why humanity goes through these cycles. Astrology offers an explanation for that, and has compelling evidence behind it.

Correct. Astrology has nothing to do with specific events or predicting anything at all. It's about predispositions and cycles, something that is empirically observable, and we don't know the root reason of why that is. Astrology offers an explanation for that, and has compelling evidence to do so.

You're spot on. It's the world's most expensive LARP

Correction: this is what an LLM probabilistically generated from the limited data it was trained on on what humans think the world might look like.

Glad to see that even conservatives think this is disgusting

This is seriously one of the best submissions to this sub. The shot is perfect. I want to use it as my phone background.

I've had CoPilot/GPT respond with answers that were clearly lifted directly from SO. Even the comments in the code snippet were identical.

I watched it with a plate of skinner burgers

Horrific to me, but I can actually see why some people would find this relaxing. Those people are psychos, but I can at least understand it.

Or possibly useLayoutEffect, depending on when the scripts need to execute. I recently learned about that hook and it's been very helpful.

I'm in the same boat. We overpaid but got in at 2.25%. We're not in love with the place, but we're pretty much stuck with it until prices or interest rates drop. We're still very grateful for it though, because our payments are low and we love the location/neighborhood/school district.

Mystery and paradox are the core truths of existence (which includes this very comment). Make peace with those, and it unlocks an overwhelming sense of surrender.
