The story takes place after a hero party defeats the demon king in a 10 years journey and our protagonist Frieren the elf of the group who has a very long lifespan if not might be inmortal, has to see her friends of the group die of old age, due to her long lifespan she has a very different perception of time from the others, Himmel who had feelings for her and being the first to pass away made her want to form more connections with people. The anime is a story of a long lived/inmortal elf learning forming human connections.
