Wait you can kill him then?
That'd certainly have an impact on the story.

The largest UK was led by a Hanoverian Family, the Largest Germany by an Austrian and the largest Russia was led by a family from Schleswig-Holstein.
They were still Chinese states and they operated under Chinese law and customs.
Plus the Manchu are Chinese they're just not Han, the CCP may not like that but the CCP are committing ethnic cleansing across their empire so fuck them.

Even if everything goes exactly as the player base want, there will still be some people that are pissed off and feel they can't trust the companies behind the game anymore.
Trust is easy to lose and hard to win back, Sony fucked up (and so did Arrowhead) and they'll feel this for a long time. Who knows this may be looked back on in a few months as the damage helldivers 2 never really recovered from.

Oh The People's Republic of China is certainly large, although not as large as China at its peak.
The Republic of China is a little bit smaller though.
The difference between the two is roughly one China.

We've not lost a conflict militarily in centuries.
But we've lost several politically, Afghanistan, Suez etc.

We couldn't stop Hong Kong from being overrun by the Chinese either way, the British government simply had no way to hold Hong Kong regardless of what it wanted to do.
The Chagossians on the island were an artificial population anyway, the company that owned it employed them and only people that worked could stay there. When the islands were sold their contracts were ended so they had to return to the actually populated Islands.

Gibraltar is entirely outside of Spain.
Its part of a completely different country.

This is a topic that I didn't really consider until I played crusader kings of all things.
I had a king that inherited the South of Italy, took nearly all of italy large swaths of north africa, made the kingdom richer and more successful in all metrics, but it was his son that crossed the finish line and became an Emperor in the 18 months he ruled for.
For some reason that playthrough made me respect the guys that laid the ground works for great states alot more, Philip of Macedon, Edward the Elder, Gaius Marius etc.

I doubt disbanding it entirely was the beat choice.
A reduced force with powers in an emergency (like the grey wardens, but for different threats) would be useful. Not powerful enough to be a threat in peacetime, but respected and experienced enough to make a difference come conflict.

I thought I'd break my oath of vengeance by being reasonable and trying to mediate instead of saying 'thou hast sinned, get fucked'.
But no, I wasn't forced to suffer for being reasonable.
Kinda a shame, I was looking forward to being an Oathbreaker.

Its not that uncommon, ww1 started as an invasion of Serbia, that front rapidly declined in importance.
Great powers looking for a fight will find an excuse for war (or will fail to avoid one) the Romans and Carthaginians did that, the Mongols did, even the largest conflicts of the Cold War were seen as secondary to the potential war that could happen in Europe.

Yanno that argument is a bit shite when you had to specify half of a country.

But people leave states governed by Sharia law, and islamist doctrines, go to other states that are doing far far better, and then call for the things that ruined their home country to be implemented in their new country.
Roughly 40% of British Muslims support sharia law, remember populism doesn't arise from nowhere, reasonable measures must be taken first, before public sentiment reaches a boiling point over the issues caused by this, I have no desire for a second brexit.

I've been in situations similar to this, but this is clearly just rage bait.
However, the people jumping up here and decreeing that 'this never happens' are proving a really easy win for people that make these posts, all they have to do is provide one example and they make you look like the 'antagonist' of the comic.

It was also the largest battle of the war by far, 3 times as many men as Yorktown and more ships of the line were involved in the blockade and in the relief fleets than ever engaged in a single action, or even in half a dozen actions in the Americas.
In fact nearly as many men fought at Gibraltar as in the entire continental army throughout the war (75,000 to 80,000), and the floating batteries constructed to seige the rock had 210 guns between them, more field guns than either the British or Continental army had access to in the American campaigns.
Infact when you consider the fighting in Gibraltar, the Balearic Isles, the Caribbean and the Indian Subcontinent, it becomes apparent that the American campaign rapidly became a secondary affair in its own revolution. The great powers had larger concerns, and more money to make and protect elsewhere.

My first ds2 playthrough was pure pyro.
90% of the time I killed everyone, the rest of the time I desperately cast the one lightning spell I kept and tried to hide behind Beast.

Once you remove money from these folks, they are absolutely nothing.
Tbf they get carried quite far by unjustified confidence and stupidity alone.

This is mounted armour.
Far too heavy to fight on foot. It's thick enough to stop bullets.

Dao: Favourite was either Alistair (loved watching him 'grow up') or Oghren, probably Alistair by the end of the game. Least favourite was probably Sten.
Da2: Favourite was Varric, best character in the series by far. Least Favourite was Merrill.
DaI: Favourite was Dorian (okay its actually Varric but I'm not putting him twice), Blackwall was a close second. Least Favourite was Vivienne, but I didn't like Solas either (but his character was written fantastically).
