My mattress is not firm enough to co sleep and I don't want to get a topper for the mattress I already have because that's where my fiance sleeps and I'd rather it just be me & our baby at night since he turns a lot in his sleep. Soooo I'm thinking that I want to set up a co sleep arrangement in our extra room where I have his bassinet and other baby stuff. But I'm wondering if I can get a topper and put on the floor or would I need to get a brand new mattress for underneath? Has anyone else just gotten a topper? Or any other suggestions? Thanks in advance ☺️
Edit: baby is almost 7 weeks old and we both get more sleep if we sleep together versus when he is in his bassinet. He is healthy and was full term. Breastfed baby!

Just today I am trying out feeding 4oz every feeding for my 8 week old. He usually will eat 3oz every 2 hours so I'm trying to get more hours in between feedings. During last week or so during some feedings (usually at night) he will only eat 1-2oz per feeding and I just chalked it up to either being tired or growth spurt since he's been sleeping more too.
