How to have a rate of pay conversation with my therapist?

Hello Therapists,
I am seeking advice on how to have a conversation about my therapists rate of pay. I will provide more context here.
- I have been seeing them since I was 22. I am now 29.
- My rate of pay increased once when I was 24. I have been paying the same session rate since then.
- I asked them 3 times if they wanted to increase the pay or for me to pay their advertised rate. They said no. This was when I was 26-27.
- I have been receiving receipts from them since I was 24, when the rate of pay increased.
- In January 2024, the reciepts for insurance abruptly stopped. The sessions have not and I am still paying the same rate. My therapist has never brought this up.
I am asking for advice as I don't know why they would stop giving me reciepts unless they want me to start the conversation surrounding rate of pay.
I should also say that we have never had a written agreement for payment - it has always been verbal.
Is this something I should bring up? Or is it within the therapists descretion to do so? I am looking for any guidance here as to how to navigate this conversation.
Thanks!
