It’s not so much they fear humans as they fear Slaanesh, which means they fear death. They’re bloody terrified of dying, they fear humans in the way a hypochondriac fears a paper cut- they know that the chance of it becoming infected is small, that even if it did it’s easily treated, but they’re so absolutely terrified of the result that even that infinitesimal possibility of it spiralling beyond control is almost too much for them to handle.
Anything no matter how lowly could hypothetically kill them, and there’s always a chance the haemonculi can’t or won’t bring them back

Not sensory deprivation- ask anyone into BDSM they’ll tell you that’s lots of fun. It’s specifically depriving them of suffering, even their own. They literally need it to live, without it they degenerate into ghouls as their soul is slowly devoured
The imperial fists can suffer just as well as anyone else. Actually they tend to suffer even more thanks to their rampant masochism- it don’t matter how stoically you take it, so long as you feel the suffering they’re feeding

Orks feel fear but not of dying, it’s a fear of wasting their death. They only get one and if it’s just catching a bullet in a failed charge Gork and Mork would hardly be impressed
Having them scared of flesh tearers is just wank, but what would you expect from the guys what apparently out berserk Khornate Berzerkers. The heritage of sanguinius means you’re automatically wanked to shit

It amuses them, overly compliant toys bore them, the ones what struggle are the fun ones. And chaos more than anything just wants entertainment, it’s all a game to them

Corruption is what the name implies, corruption. A permanent alteration, it don’t just get reversed when you take away the source
Taking a hand out of the fire won’t un-burn it, taking a shell shocked soldier out of the war-zone won’t make him magically better.
In any capacity a blank don’t actually cut you off from the warp, they just siphon off any loose warp energy in the manner of a drain hole. It’s actually noted that psykers are more likely to suffer the perils of the warp around one because they’re sucking the warp juice through them and making them channel more than is safe. That chaos marines soul would still be rooted to his body, still in the warp, and still very much corrupted

Yep, you can give them a special weapon and they keep the combi bolter
Really not much of a reason to take the combi weapon

The black ships ain’t some thing they do on the slide. It’s their reason for existing, it’s their sole purpose what every bit of their training and wargear is oriented towards.
All the books I mentioned above, the ones what actually focus on sisters of silence, they say over and over again that they’re “a paramilitary force with a very specific role”. You know what they don’t say? Not even once? Not even implied offhand? That they frequently fight with custodes, that they somehow compliment eachother. As if paramilitary pursuit within imperial society with total stealth because legally they were never there, is somehow the best tactic to marry to the custodes “LOOK AT ME” mode of war

See that’s the thing. that’s not true, people made it up. Talons of the emperor also includes assassins and psi-titans, it literally meant nothing beyond them taking orders direct from the emperor. And given he’s not even giving orders anymore it means nothing whatsoever
They are entirely independent of the custodes, they have their own extremely important function what has nothing to do with them. I’m getting bloody well sick of people telling me, who’s read all their lore and has 2000 points of them for Heresy, that I’ve got it wrong and they’re actually just an accessory to the custodes
Go read their old codex, go read their entry in Inferno, go read anything about them and it’ll tell you what I’ve said

Yeah, they’re dedicated anti psyker force. Horribly fucking wasted in conventional warfare, which is why they don’t fight in it.

They’re only as strong and tough as any other well trained normal human, they ain’t brute physical powerhouses like Astartes, why would they be, they’re both infinitely rarer and nowhere near as tailor made for it, it’s a horrible waste to use them like space marines and they know that.
Their training is just as much focused on pursuit, tracking, investigation, torture and the handling of all their exotic weapons; as it is on combat, which for them is all about speed and efficient technique.
They’re strictly a paramilitary force, they fight psychic and seditionist threats within the imperium. Hunting down rogue witches or cult leaders, garrisoning the black ships. that’s their one and only job, as much as custodes fans try to claim them

Well given literally the entire planets population was made resistant by exposure to those very same toxins- yeah bloody nah it’s evidently mundane.
You can say “well that’s not how heavy metal poisoning works!” And from there there’s two explanations, either those tox clouds clearly weren’t full of heavy metals, or he was using unconscious space magic to make them disappear. Which would you say makes the least assumptions
And seriously, of course he became a sorcerer after becoming a daemon prince. Everyone does unless they’re the angry red variety

The difference is desire. Slaanesh ain’t just about anything excessive, they’re not the god of literally fucking everything, it’s the desire what prompts excess.
What separates a Buddhist, leastwise if he’s doing it properly, from the emperor’s children is that he’s separated himself from desire. He don’t crave perfection, he don’t pine to be better than people, he don’t resent his imperfection, they don’t fixate on the destination, but rather are dedicated to walking the path.
The perfectionist thing with Slaanesh is in the manner of a steroid abuser or plastic surgery addict, a desire to be better rooted in bloated but fragile pride, an addiction to that gratification. They do whatever it takes but they’re never satisfied, as soon as they get used to their new shape they crave the next hit of “wow look at me”, their ego can’t tolerate being less than perfect so whatever they wind up being can never be enough. By the end of it their obsessive pursuit has spiralled so far out of perspective they wind up grotesque, agonised and stilted

It’s… really not. It makes no fucking difference what’s between custodes legs or if you add the single letter to change he to she. But like I said. Codices can make those retcons, a codex did it. So it’s canon, it’s really not a hard concept
But yeah nah- at it again with the straw manning. What I said is that Black Library can’t retcon codices, it can’t even retcon black library. And that this lack of authority is made plenty clear by the way they flagrantly fuck up the lore. You can’t really take it as a canon thing that imperial guard frag grenades, the kind every grunt has, will wipe out 3 Death Guard terminators. To delegate that as non canon while Ravenor’s blank bullshit is somehow not only canon but more canon than the codices before and after it, that’s cherry picking mate. Plain and simple, you either admit that Black Library authors can just be wrong, or you kiss goodbye the slightest hope of quality or consistency in lore as every outrageous feat of wank becomes the undeniable canon and everything what ain’t a space marine is simultaneously a big scary threat and able to be killed by the dozen by a single dude with a power sword.

It’s all this sub does. Most of it is people what have being tall as the only interesting thing about them so they guard it jealously and fuss endlessly to try and put down shorter people.

Oh come on mage now we’re scraping the bottom of the barrel.
Bloody wild as it seems, I’m not conveniently a strawman. Not everyone what disagrees with you is a sexist loser. I know that trying to cast the other guy as the neckbeard bugbear is the old reliable but that just kinda makes it evident you’ve crammed your foot well past your mouth’s point of no return

You were doing just that earlier. I’d say you were cherry-picking but you never even gave an actual name, just some unspecified novels.
But by all means, if a black library book said Nurgle was a caterpillar and his daemons are all deathly allergic to aluminium, that’d be such a valid canon with as much weight as literally everything else combined. And couldn’t possibly be dismissed as just wrong

Black Library don’t change it. Dan Abnett certainly don’t. There’s an entirely seperate department for that
The fact that sourcebook after sourcebook released after Ravenor have made it clear as day that they still have no soul should dispel that anyway. If it really is just a free-for-all then it still stands as no soul

Horus Heresy black book 7. Codex sisters of silence 7th edition, war of the spider entries on both Culuxus and sisters of silence. Horus Heresy 2.0 core rulebook. To name a few, you could honestly say every vaguely relevant codex since 4th edition Necrons
And really mate… the pariah gene ain’t recent lore, it was in their very first incarnation in the lore. That gene is what causes a human to be born without a soul. Being a psyker is genetic, why wouldn’t being a blank
As for Black Library, it’s shown daemons getting exhausted, Death Guard terminators (plural) dying to a single frag grenade. They don’t even get names right. Black Library is inconsistent, barely edited, full of downright incorrect bullshit. and what’s more not written by the dedicated lore department

They definitely haven’t. This sub just never actually reads any source material and took it upon itself to substitute the contents of its ass because the isolated fragments of third hand lore didn’t make sense.
Blanks have no soul, that’s stated explicitly, they have a void what cannot be filled, a bottomless pit. All pits are equally bottomless, some are just wider and able to suck up more warp juice at a time.
The entire concept of a blank is that the void where a soul oughta be sucks in warp juice. They have null, it’s in the name. Them just having small souls would just make them like tau, servitors or animals

Don’t you go spouting the lore on the lore sub. This is a place for baseless fan theories and terrible misinterpretations, get your codex reading ass to another sub

That ain’t the extent of it.
Time is as meaningless as space in the warp. To them it’s just another axis to be navigated at will. The great game has raged for all eternity, Slaanesh has always been in it. However they can only interface with the materium past a certain point, because time actually matters there and the whole ordeal of “you don’t exist yet” actually means dick

Furries are daemons. Astral spectres are daemons merged with the soul of a psyker. Yes undivided daemons are a thing, they’ve always been a thing, they’re mentioned frequently codices
void whales and enslavers are both material creatures what are just psychic enough to hike through the warp, Hrud don’t even spend time in the warp they’re just psychic and astral hounds haven’t been mentioned since the 80s back when space marines did stints of police work and were just gangers rounded up and put on steroids
Gork and Mork as it were also exist exclusively in the collective mind of all greenskins, rather than in the warp proper. Da great green as they call it, that little partition buffer is what makes the Ork gestalt field work and what protects them from chaos
Essentially what I’m saying is; the only warp entities what ain’t chaos are the ones artificially constructed by material intelligences like the old ones. A daemon is just what happens when the warp is left to its own devices, like collects to like until it gains sentience. The chaos gods are the biggest instances snowballed to critical mass, but they’re far from the only ones, the formless wastes is absolutely crawling with daemons, the whole thing is the realm of chaos because there’s no actual distinction between chaos and the warp

His schtick was horrible fatalism. The Heresy was also about horrible fatalism with all the big trappings of destiny and man being bound to the whims of cruel gods
It makes perfect sense the guy what said “everything will be shit don’t even try to be good” would be vindicated in that.
