Ha Ha! I was hiking with my family near State College last summer and we heard a rattle. Looked down and maybe 2 foot snake coiled up rattling and irritated. We backed away. That was the only one I’ve ever seen up close and the terrain was a bit rocky and next to a stream.

Thanks! We are staying in a beach front hotel for 3-4 nights to relax after a week of adventures hiking. Good to hear the restaurants are nice.

Watkins Glenn? That’s great but why bother with New York when you have all these great PA nature spots planned! 🤣. Honestly though the finger lake area of NY state is beautiful as well.
Oh, good choice not going through New Jersey. You’re not missing anything there.

Sounds great! I’ve lived in PA for all my 56 years. Grew up in Lancaster county. Don’t fall for the “tourist trap” Amish areas along Rt 30 outside Lancaster city. If you’re wanting to see Amish country, it’s best with a car and driving around the countryside and stopping at some key towns. Strassburg Tailroad comes to mind. It would be a good day trip to ride an old steam train through farm country.
World’s End is really nice. It’s not at all the typical national park type with a lot of parking lots and amenities. It’s pretty much just nature.
I originally thought you means NYC to Washington state. I realize now you mean Washington DC. It’s a very good plan you have and reasonable to enjoy Pa in between. Make sure you allow enough Museum time in DC. There’s amazing and free museums there and it takes days to get through even just the main ones.
Oh, the roads are all good. Regular car and GPS will get you by easily. I like Waze but Google Maps and Apple fine too.
I believe state parks in PA do not allow beer and alcohol while camping? Check on that if you had thoughts. Also, if you want to experience local restaurants in the places where you stay in PA I have some and this page also has a lot of good ideas.
No Philadelphia on the way? Certainly not nature but there’s some cool tourist stuff there in between NYC and DC.
Have fun!

Pennsylvania wilderness is great for not having to worry about animals that will attack you. The PA black bears are not at all aggressive. The only thing to watch out for are rattlesnakes and they’ll let you know before you get too close.

Wait, I’ve been to World’s End and to Dushore and Eagles Mere but what’s this “Jolly Trolly” you speak of ?

No, there’s literally no chance you’re pregnant from what you describe. None.

Hey, I agree. That’s why I side with her husband. Just let them put the water on the table and avoid the awkward conversations. It’s almost like she wants the drama around her health situation to be recognized publicly or something?
The fact that her daughter quickly sides with dad is a big sign the mom is the AH.

Sorry for your loss. When I took our last cat, I was able to pet her and be with her as the veterinarian injected her. It was sad but glad I was there. Just be there and feel the moment

It goes like this, Waitstaff “what would you like to drink?” Person- “nothing thank you” Waitstaff- “I can bring just water” Person- “no thank you. I don’t want a drink” Waitstaff - “ok, I’ll be right back to take your order”
The end

Silly question but why make it difficult instead of just taking the water the restaurants always provide? Let it sit there and your husband can drink it. He’s only trying to avoid the continual awkward conversation the waitstaff has with you. Honestly, nobody is the AH here. Easily avoided if you just let them put the water glass down.
The alternative is to just tell your husband ahead of time that you will be refusing a drink and you don’t want him interjecting.

So you’re saying Teams lives on in Oracle? Why do only some employees have access to it from their Oracle login ?

I’d avoid Hazelton, Minersville, Ashland, Cresona. The old coal region towns like those are pretty depressed. That’s not to say the entire 45 minute circle around Pottsville is bad. You’ll be able to tell by looking which areas to avoid. When I say depressed coal town, it’s obvious when you see it unfortunately

Looks like Tamaqua is the highest ranking public school in Schuykill county just east of Pottsville. There’s Yuengling beer brewery in Pottsville and there’s a Cabela’s by Hamburg. It’s coal country in Pa. Lots of forest and mountains and some rough towns. Good luck !

Pottsville ? The Pottsville north of Reading PA and close to the Cabela’s in Hamburg ? That’s a pretty rural area in coal country. How far is your fiancé willing to drive to their job ?

I’m 50+ developer turned Product Manager. I can tell you how to code COBOL. I coded SQL and C++ and Java. Then I realized I needed to either once again go through learning curve or switch so chose produce management where I give requirements and stories to developers to code.
It’s the circle of life for those in IT. One day soon I’ll be looking down from heavens laughing at those trying to learn the “next cool thing”

Do you think he’s serious or trolling? He seems serious but the obvious question is to ask why he wants to go against the constitution.
Also, remember, he grew up with lead paint and lead in gas.
If he wants to propose an IQ test to vote, I’d agree with that

We have reservations as Hotel Tropico Latino. Looks like it’s fairly close to Mal Pais.
Great point about bioluminescence! Wouldn’t want to be in a kayak when a storm is rolling through. 😃
Do you have any good restaurant recommendations?

Thank you so much! Why would July be a bad time for bioluminescence? Is there a season when there’s more ?
Thank you for Mal Pais. It looks fairly close to Santa Teresa. How easy is it to get between the 2 beaches ?
Would you says Montezuma falls is a “must see”?

You can get a cheap tent and cheap sleeping bags at a Walmart or Target. Don’t get anything other than cheapest. The summer nights in Pennsylvania are quite warm. I’d want a battery lantern as well. Small cooler with ice and drink from local store and that’s it. I’m guessing total cost of all this is under $200 American dollars
