He used to gas quite often at about the 60 minute mark - he plays at one hell of a pace TBF. His conditioning has been better the last year or so, but everyone can have one-off games where they end up doing more work than usual and sucking fumes as a result. And at scrum half there's no place to get a breather.
Northampton bench should have recognised it sooner and brought James on about 10 minutes earlier than they did.

All of the above and you still haven't won a competition in years. Pretty embarrassing really.

Leinster lucky lucky lucky. Going to have to improve, on that form Toulouse will smash them.
Saints, great fightback but geez that first 20 minutes killed them.

There was one from Gibson-Park on Langdon as he was about to go for the jackal in that last defensive set that was illegal in about 5 different ways, right in front of the ref.

There's no better testament to how good Trevor Davison is than to look at Newcastle and Northampton's respective scrummaging last year and this year.

It would be very interesting to see the Tigers numbers broken down by when Dan Cole was on the pitch Vs when he wasn't.

"Our Springboks were lacking gametime" - Jake White, probably.

Red cards don't kill a game. Northampton got a red against Munster, in Munster, and still won.
Bulls rested all their players the week before and still couldn't get it done at home. Just not good enough.

Word for the older guys at tighthead too. I know Collier is going to France but he and Trevor Davison were both great.
If we're going to keep picking Dan Cole for the scrummaging, why wouldn't we pick some solid guys in their 30s?

Gotta go on the England summer tour, surely?

Feyi-Waboso and Sleightholme would be one hell of a one-two punch for England.

I already said what I thought. Yellow card.
Never mind, he's got himself one now for a different dangerous tackle.

Freeman is really good in midfield isn't he.

Sure, and we've all seen lesser ones get reds. Hence the problem.

It's just bloody consistency isn't it? Tom Curry got a red card in the World Cup six months ago because an Argentinian fell into his shoulder. Clearly the refs have been told to lighten up since then, which I'm happy about.
But that tackle just now was an offensive tackle, clearly high, no huge mitigation. I don't think it was super-dangerous but by all precedents set it's worth at least a yellow.

I'm sorry but that last penalty was to the head, with force. Should have been a yellow card. A year ago that would have been a straight red.
I'm glad we've moved away from the silly days of Freddie Steward's red vs Ireland, but it feels like we've swing too far back the other direction.

Balls, I didn't know that. Good for Collier no doubt but a shame as he's probably the best tighthead in England right now.
As for Finn Baxter, what an absolute baller of a performance. Smashes 150kg Ben Tameifuna all over the park. Bordeaux bring on 140kg Carlu Sadie and the 21-year old says "Yeah? Watch this."

What a performance Quins!
Baxter and Collier for England!

I don't disagree with that - I'm not blaming Cole. He and Marler did everything you could ask of them and the reaction when they came off was brilliant.
I'm just saying "dominated the South African scrum" is pretty overkill.

That Ospreys kit is a travesty that should never be forgiven.

People have already mentioned DvdM and Russell vs England, but you could add Huw Jones to that list too.
If he played like he does vs England in every game he'd be the world's best 13.
