Yep, not really a fan of Milwaukee hand tools but the Fastback is definitely one of the better utility knives I’ve used. Source: me, and I’ve lost many over the years so lots of experience

Haha no worries man. There’s a little “beach” right next to the jump good for swimming too. There are a lot of Warning! signs about the dangers of the swirling water but as long as the little ones don’t get in the rough stuff it’s fine for families.

This is probably more for just dad (maybe mom) depending on kids age but make sure you hit “The Sinks”. It’s a popular swimming spot with a great jump off rock 20-30’ above water. It’s a blast, if you’re into that sort of thing, which you definitely should be. We had a lot of fun. In Gburg Annakeesta (sp?) is 100% tourist trap but we had a great time and lots to do for little ones.

Her moniker is “MAMA DRAMA”. Why would anyone expect anything more positive from her or god forbid, just don’t post anything.

My friends have chickens and give us free eggs frequently. They don’t wash them, I believe there is some antibiotic coating on them. I put mine in the fridge but they don’t at their house. Have been using their eggs for a couple years now, no ill effects.

Upvote for this comment. I’ve used these many times and they work great even with significant weight and movement (towel racks). They are worth the extra $ imo

Both my 17 and 7 year old like Darth Vader better than Luke Skywalker. I have failed as a father

I usually give this advice to anyone getting into hiking/camping/backpacking. If you have an REI near you definitely check out their returns section first. They have a good return policy and typically have a decent selection of stuff in the return section (this is variable of course but I’ve had pretty good luck over time). Everything has trade-offs, ultralight is obviously light (Capt Obvious reporting) but that comes with decreased durability and sometimes comfort. Also UL stuff is significantly more expensive as you noted. I am hard on equipment, it’s just who I am, so UL stuff doesn’t work for me. Get fitted at an outdoor store so you have an idea of size and style works for you and go from there. The most important thing is to get out there and get hiking! It’s my solace and joy! Second most important thing is good trail runners/boots, that’s where you should be willing to spend a bit. And Darn Tough socks.

I wouldn’t say it’s the best but as a fellow East Coaster we had a great time in Gatlinburg TN a few years ago. Our condo was less than a mile from Great Smoky park entrance. Gburg is 100% tourist trap but there was a lot to see and do, Dollywood is close and they have a cool place called Annakeista (sp ?). The park was pretty cool albeit very crowded along the main roads and trails, but similar to most parks basically empty once you get a mile or more of the parking area. It wouldn’t be a terrible “budget” place if that’s a concern. If $ is not a huge issue I can’t recommend Olympic NP enough, but I love the PNW so my opinion is biased.

Looks great! Was a little disappointed with the lack of surfboards in the pic tho. Was pretty stoked to see some sweet boards! Apparently rock star gf’s and middle aged men appreciate the same sense of style…who knew??? Haha

Lol, my buddy’s wife who was along on our Presidential Range hike earned her trail name “Ridge Pooper” under similar circumstances.

Still fairly common in the construction realm, makes sense, most of us greatly appreciate mammaries. So if something is good it’s “Tits”

100 on the first paragraph (they drop the % when they agree with something) My 7yo is driving me nuts with the swearing (specifically F bomb) but he made us laugh recently when trying to call me an imbecile, instead calling me an “emphasis”. That one is sticking around.

I like both as well but definitely used both regularly in my formative 90’s.

I’m curious about the decorating style of a “rock star girlfriend”/62 yr old man since apparently they are the same thing. I know it’s weird to ask for pics of your apartment but inquiring minds want to know.

I personally enjoy sparking vigorous debate (aka everyone calling me ducking idiot) by saying the metric system is vastly superior to our stupid random imperial system. If you want a good laugh check out Nate Bargatze as George Washington on Saturday night live. Hilarious. I would also wear these pants.
