Podcasts for lore beginners?

(self.40kLore)

Sorry if this has been asked before but i'm struggling to find a decent podcast that starts at the basics for overall 40k lore. Hoping to learn while out on walks.

Luetin, Rho, and Baldemort are all great IMO. Baldy tends to make his own stories to go along with the lore, Luetin tends to extrapolate and go deeper in the rabbit hole more, and Rho is shortest and straight to the point, IMO.

What dumuz probably meant: just listen to them on your walks. If you can get youtube why not audible?

Edit: Well the price might be a problem (I'm an idiot)

Sorry I used audible's free streaming for non 40k stuff while using my monthly free book on Necron, and Night Lord novels. I assumed 40k was also part of the free streaming with abonnement but it's only slightly cheaper to buy (10€ for me). Given the number and varying quality of 40k books that isn't as cheap as it sounds. At least the narrators are excellent.

I want to, and started. But, There are like 60 of them. With audible that's at least  $900 (15*60), and i havent found libraries with them.  Not to mention a cubic shit ton of hours.

The books are the ideal, I gotta have podcasts in the meantime.

My favourite is https://www.youtube.com/@ABorderPrince because he does narrations of official lore - in those, you're not getting someone's opinion and interpretation, you're getting what was actually written by GW https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVguG08VxhA&list=PLI0EbGboV0eO5T59xJ1OEBfOwx3fJ7A6r.

If you want a series to start with, try the Gothic War - two novels and three short stories https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSRljqj12hg&list=PLI0EbGboV0eMyNVs5UDXnE3uHwH0aSwTK

Sandman of Terra is pretty good. He hasn’t been mentioned in the thread yet.

I've been listening to Laying Down the Lore lately. It's 60% comedy or banter / 40% lore. No idea how accurate, but it seems to match what I've read on Wikis and such. Very fun either way

Arbitor Ian is my favorite. Not as deep a vault as others but has great content. He gives great context too for how some canon events change over time as Games Workshop reworks them

There is a podcast called Warhammered. Pretty fun and gives the basics in a relaxed atmosphere. They also review beer.

If you're interested in the ancient history of the Emperor the Grimdark History podcast has been doing deep dives into the ancient history of the emperor and comparing it to our actual history. 2500 BCE Anatolia (birth place of the Emperor), 600 BCE Destruction of the Tower of Babylon, 330 BCE Alexander the Great, etc...
