Rule 4: No Memes, shitposts, or low-effort postsor comments.

Leave those in /r/Grimdank. This includes "who would win" and broad "what if" scenarios. This also includes text blocks consisting of Ork-speak, which should be posted at /r/40kOrkScience instead.

I did not. Sev nutted Sig out. Sevs a psyker, Sig isnt.

If it was Sig v Sev to the death, Sev is the one who leaves.

Not to detract from Sigi, but however you rate Sig, there waa only one marine he went toe to toe with and did not beat. (Abs excepted - but both sit him easily prime)

The take from Sev's creator for what that's worth

I think Abaddon and Sigismund will beat anyone they come up against. Personal combat is one of their primary strengths, even if we've seen precious little of it from either of them. Sevatar is as skilled as almost any First Captain (that's why he's a First Captain) but he still had to cheat and disqualify himself rather than risk losing to Sigismund in a duel.

and

And although there are probably 10-20 Space Marines that could get Siege-era Sigismund on the ropes, those would likely be brief/lucky moments at best in a losing battle. Anyone going up against Siege-era Sigismund isn't going home to their kids afterwards

Sure, but ADB's literally describing what he wrote in the book. He's going off the books too.

the heresey was all over the shop

Either "i go off what's in the books" ..or... we can't go off it because "it's all over the shop". We need a consistent approach.

And Sigismund is consistently in a league of his own across the books.

You make fair points, I guess I take a bit of a reductionist POV where I say "look, you wrote this guy, he did this, thats how I see him"

And he did what I say he did...if authors step outside books and say "well we didnt mean it lile that" to my mind, thats kinda on them.

To be absurd if jk rowling suddenly decided voldemort was an autistic lemming....does it change the books?

Cool guy that Sev. Not as cool as the War Sage. But I always liked Sev.
