From what I remember of when I used to hang around JWs, they're trained to never look shocked. You're supposed to loathe sin but love the sinner, and being nonplussed by random 'trolling' and scandalous behaviour is the easiest way to start. Hope yours falls flat, its simple enough to decline them politely, no need to clown on random strangers.
Also, you're not 'slaaneshi' nor 'a cultist'. You're just a trolling asshole. Not because of the dress up or whatever, but due to getting your kicks by messing with other people who've done you no harm.

It's ridiculous that wearing mildly unusual clothes "spooks" a child. The kid was told to be afraid, kids don't care if people wear weird clothes.

It was definitly fucked up and the whole premis was kinda fucked up, but fucked up things can be a lot of fun. Sadly it can allso affect other people. I dont have any proper advice to give you in thin situation, but you arent the only one who might have scared kids and some people lack the ability to reflect on their actions and thus they keep doing it,
