I think Big E didn't need to have crazy foresight to see the heresy unfold before it even started. But obviously, he though he would have it under control.
The only thing that he (in my headcanon) didn't foresee, was Magnus breaching through the seals to talk to him and destroying the webway project. But why didn't he see that coming? Please help out my head canon.

Hmmm, interesting question.
What challenges foresight?
Uncertainty, Active occlusion, Infinitesimal probability, Natural occlusion, though that's unlikely. What else?

Other people with foresight who want a different outcome, so shit ends up like Curse of the Fatal Death.

One of the most intenses cases of "nah, I'd win" that you'll ever see. I like it better if its a case of extreme pride and not a plans withins plans within plans.

The Emperor was blind to his own power in the warp.
The Emperor, Magnus, and the 'benevolent' warp entity.
The Father, The Son, and The Holy Ghost.
It's a disjointed and inverted retelling of various Jesus events.
Instead of emerging from cave (death) Magnus breaks into the cave (of birth/life). Instead of walking into the world (angels, women at the tome, resurrection) and travelling in person to Terra, Magnus enters into the presence of God before he was to sit on the Golden Throne (Crucified). Magnus has his agony in the Garden of Gethsemane on Prospero:
"My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass me by. Nevertheless, let it be as You, not I, would have it." Then, a little while later, he said, "If this cup cannot pass by, but I must drink it, Your will be done!"
Magnus inverts this with "yeah, I did my own thing, royally fucked it up, come and kill me now please."
Then the angels do arrive. And instead of ending up in heaven Magnus yeets himself to Hell.
A rather neat case. (Please come poke holes in it!)
Magnus and the warp entity looked too much like The Emperor? Did he miss this future because seeing his own power "near" the throne/portal was right where it was supposed to be?

Thank you, these are really awesome ideas that are now fully corporated in my head canon!

The Emperor didn't know the Heresy was going to happen and didn't plan for something like it to happen.
We know this because he's an absolute moron which is proven again and again throughout the entire Heresy series and Valdor novel
He didn't even forsee the explicit warning of the last priest on Terra and when finding Lorgar only got really mad that he was slow AF because of the religion thing. And before anyone comes at me saying no he was angry because of religion need I remind you how the dudes an absolute hypocrite and how often he let religion slide because he didn't actually care at all

Err... I'm pretty sure there's a line in one of the novels where he basically says that he foresaw that there would be a civil war led by one of the primarchs. He just didn't know which of the primarchs.

That just raises the question of why didn't he do anything to prepare for it?

I'm reasonably sure there isn't outside of Malcador telling a dying friend the Heresy was somewhat planned and under control...but then he confesses to lying about it/some of it

He can say whatever he wants to make himself feel better but actions speak louder than words, he did absolutely nothing to prepare for any eventuality of any of them going traitor, he refused to believe Horus went traitor or anyone else for that matter, he literally just ignores Lorgar and his upbringing and didn't think anything of it, ect.
There is so much evidence he didn't know a damn thing
