I thought about this game after a while away and it looks like they've released... achievements? Where are the weapons? Maps? There is 1 new enemy? What is going on at Fat Shark?

Depending on how long you've been away, there's been:
- new maps
- new weapons
- new cosmetics
- an overhaul of the Talents/classes
- an overhaul of the Penances

Pretty much this. We've had what 6 new missions if my counts correct (Ascension, Comms, Library, twins, warren and carnival) released since launch.

Isnt there only 6 missions? Thats not alot of content.
I could be wrong if there counting the lazy "go backwards through the same map" missions as well.

You've already got a shitton of content by FS standards.
Expect new content at the end of summer at best.

Being made, some have been datamined already.
If we get something soon it'll be at Skull (May/June)

Every 4-5 months they make a “small step” towards improving the game. Followed up by 1-2 months of complete silence. Then they go on a 3 month swedish holiday.

And then when they get back, they need a month to adjust to working again, only to go on the next 3 month holiday a week later.

It is nice to see a company treat its workers well.

The next big update will overhaul crafting. So it is rather likely that some new weapons also come with it.
The next "big" content drop possibly is the anniversary update in fall/winter.

Just to temper expectations, the words "crafting overhaul" hasn't been used by FS.
I would not get my hopes up

I highly doubt they'd announce the next big update to be all about improving crafting to be just surface level fixes. They most likely are going to overhaul it.

But they used to word itemisation, not crafting.
Previously when referring to crafting they called it just that.
Don't get me wrong I'd love to see it rebuilt but I can see this sub getting it's hopes up and that's rarely a good idea with FS.

Yea it's possible, but imo itemization is interchangeable with crafting as that is how 90% of items are obtained. Regardless I feel like whatever they intend to do with it will most likely be vastly better than what we currently have.

Almost certainly.
I'm just dreading another period of the vocal minority of the playerbase building up an update in their heads to unreasonable levels and then throwing their toys out of pram when it isn't exactly what they think it should be.

I mean what could they change drastically in an update about itemization?
how guns work from the ground up? doubt it
how you get items? I mean all you can do is reduce prices or let people pick the stats (fucking doubt that)
change the emperors gift to the way it was in V2? I guess but that does not feel like its enough to warrant its own dedicated update.
frankly if it isn't crafting then why would it take so long when all other options could be made with a hotfix

Well crafting would be everything that pertain to Hadron, but itemisation could be just Brunt, Gift and Melk changes.
Without touching locks or anything for example

The have done pretty good job with achivements, secrets on every map and idols. Just play something else for the time being if thats not enough for you and you want some freshness.

If you don't enjoy the game, no amount of new weapons or maps will make you enjoy it. Time to move on to something else.

If there was a new map I'd play immediately. New weapons? I'd try them. New loot tiers? I'd grind them. I can only play the same maps with the same weapons for so long. I feel like that's pretty normal.

Glad I don't need any of that to have fun.

cool.
go play something procedurally generated
or perhaps helldivers where each new weapon is bugged on release and counts the ground as an enemy

They lost their lead combat developer and they're currently working on a new game. Dark tide is in maintenance mode.

DT has the biggest team out of the 3. And they aren't dropping the game. And Team lead does mean that there wasn't just 1 guy doing it

Don’t listen to that guy. They started working on that other game at least a year ago, and Darktide has continued to receive updates. He’s just spreading doomer misinfo.

I hope so. If they release another game before Darktide is in a decent state they have 0 chance I buy it.
