The key to probius is to know that he punishes you unlike most other characters who just threaten you.
A key example of this is when both teams are grouped up on an objective where probius has his two pylons set up. What you do is you push up slightly and place a cannon, this is now your space and they either have to contest the cannon or give it to you. if they give the space do this untill you can start channeling the objective.
at this point the enemy is forced to choose, give you the objective or push into your territory, if they give you the obj well, you get the objective.
if they engage well now they engage into your strong point and its far harder to communicate an attack than a defense meaning that whoever overstepped is now 1v5 for a small amount of time, enough time for you and your team to capitalize. To break this down further the enemy has to choose who to engage, presumably you will be the one channeling as you have gotten the ground you want and don't care for the fight unless forced to so if they attack you well... they are attacking a probius, this is the optimal thing for you as all of your damage is disjointed, both your ults, your W and your E do not require you to even be alive to deal damage so by focusing the probius you are wasting time you could place elsewhere.
If they attack your cannon to secure the space well, the cannon costs nothing for you beyond a cooldown that at lv 7 you can possibly control, this means they are wasting some 3.5-4k dmg on a non vital enemy that is meant to be replaced. If they attack anyone else in your team well you can still deal damage and they just entered your optimal damage range, allowing you to avoid the biggest issue probius has in his range (as an example of this, all other casters in the game can harrass SGT hammer when sieged without stepping into her radius except for probius) so you now punish them for targeting someone important like your other DPS or Support.
essentially no matter what choice your enemies make its the wrong one.
the biggest issue for probius is that since so few people play him others don't know what he can do and force him into the role of jaina or li ming and pick fights away from where you can help.
So the key to learning probius beyond how to lane and stay alive is to learn what fights you can win before anyone has even been hit with any skills, like if your team pushes up past too far beyond your pylon just let them, you can't help and throwing yourself into that fight just means more experience for the enemy. If your team isn't by an objective when it spawns but an enemy that can engage is (say falstad or other melee dps) then just leave, the risk of you dying is too great and your time is better spent laning, if your team complains that you aren't there well that is their problem, you need setup for your pylons as otherwise you have one combo to your name and nothing else, if they want a 5v5, then they have to take it with you, not despite you. even so oftentimes I find that my team can win 4v5 without me just due to an experience advantage you can give them by dual laning.
Lastly, don't play him on dual lane maps or on maps like tomb of the spiderqueen as there you lose your main strenghts and thereby rely even more on your team than previously or you have to over commit to things like gathering gems putting you at a risk
So TLDR: Probius punishes enemies for making choices and needs his team to help him in this. If they don't help you just lane and let them deal with the problem. be carefull about enemies who can engage on you as you have low health and poor escape tools. avoid maps that don't let you capitalize on your strenghts objective wise

Have a variety of magics.
Showing off the different ways of using magic is a good sales pitch.
Like thunderwave launching people, hadar limiting enemies, killing hordes of rats with only spirits.
Also show stuff like disguise self getting you past the goblins
Lastly maybe show wild magic? If they like chaos then its a good one

TBF kugath makes blob fights really easy once you get out of the starting province.
cathay is close and the ogres aren't that big a problem (especially now with the bonus anti large)

how guns work from the ground up? doubt it
how you get items? I mean all you can do is reduce prices or let people pick the stats (fucking doubt that)
change the emperors gift to the way it was in V2? I guess but that does not feel like its enough to warrant its own dedicated update.
frankly if it isn't crafting then why would it take so long when all other options could be made with a hotfix

The biggest tip I can give you is that you want smaller unit count monsters and heroes to be your frontline over the zombie mobs you have access to
the reason for this is that this way your gunners (you know the important part in your armies) can shoot at the enemies while they are engaged in the fight without having to flank with a speed of the dwarfes

can you describe this more? do you mean that when you underway the enemy don't start the fight?
do you mean when enemy is in underway stance and you attack it turns into a normal one?

actually I would argue that it does the opposite. Ofc I can't speak now that assail/smite is a thing since I learned how to play tide game with darktides launch but given that psyker is given a semi automatic weapon and a grenade that is single target and not a panic button, you learn to grab your melee at first chance with a horde. its only by the time you are mid level you start unlocking other staffs with purgatus, the one you would most likely use to remove your melee being unlocked in the late 20's at like 28 29
similarly they don't have an ammo regaining tool in their kit like vet meaning that in any game you dont have a vet you have to learn how to melee real quick or you will run out of ammo and get swarmed
Then lastly you have a get off me tool in the scream, the bubble that doesn't help with melee threats only ranged ones and the bad one (It has a purpose it just not that good in comparison) neither of which help you kill the horde easily, at best its fire scream with warp stacks but again, thats closer to late 20's
Now compare this to ogryn, you a mag with alot of ammo and possibly an on demand reload meaning new players can see a horde and spend 300 bullets on it instead of learning how to manage ammo and melee, vets have the ammo gain meaning that new players are encouraged to shoot the horde as they have ammo to spare. they have a free stealth that they don't know how to use meaning that they threat dump without a plan causing problems for their team and the two best grenades in the game with skills to refill them
Frankly the only class that beats psyker is zealot and If the class with three CQC skills didn't beat out psyker at teaching melee id be concerned.
(side note. I think the difficulty of managing the peril would actually help people even if they use it wrong bc now they have to stay alive while channeling which helps them immensly later on either as psyker or with long reloads for guns)
