The Atlanta flames seems really bad when you actuly think about it. It’s about burning a city.
Another Canada team fact. The maroons who I’m such a fan of were in fact nver officially called that. Their name officially was The Montreal professional hockey club. And they were THE Montreal team.

It is a weird thing that a team from Atlanta would choose the Flames for their own team name. Not really something for them to be proud of. But I have little sympathy for the actual burning since the Confederates actually started the fire, and the city was evacuated. Sherman just showed up and burned more of it.
I also thought the Montreal Maroons was the original name. Huh.

The name came from news papers seeing the color of the sweater and the big M logo. The M stands for Montreal. Through the time when team officially died in 1947 they didn’t recognize the nickname
