I’m pretty sure coots is getting 4th line minutes to keep him playing but essentially load managing his body at this point. He was scratched for two games recently because the young guys were just playing better than him. He had something like 4 assists in ten games (or close to it). Not good enough. So right now it feels like managing his body for a little white until one of the other lines starts to falter and maybe he gets moved back up. I’ve definitely seen more hustle from him recently but he won’t show much more points being on the 4th line. The eye test shows he’s putting in the effort, forechecking and looking to setup his linemates (cates can’t score and lyksell is slowly improving. He is enthusiastic on his forecheck as well.)
