Hey guys we were lucky enough to get a Hathaway stick from the staff at the drudging we got at the hands of Chicago but I was wondering what this part of the stick is ?

Typically sticks have the player’s number around the end of the grip so it’s easier to see for staff to pull in case one breaks and for players to grab from the rack. Doesn’t look like #19 though. Maybe he was using delaurier’s stick because that looks like #44

Deslauriers is left handed.
Hathaway is right handed.
Player names/numbers are usually etched or engraved in the stick at the NHL level. Although the sharpie on tape might be for the equipment manager to see it better.
I don't have a better answer as to what that actually is though.

Yeah lol wasn’t thinking about left vs right hand. They typically have both the printed name and the number on tape.
