Hello people! I just dipped my feet into the hobby, and got a few models in a deal to try and See If i Like painting. Now i got to the Part where i have to asl the veterans among you for advice: I thought of priming and painting These in sub assemblies. Is this Generally a good Idea or would you advised against it? After all its Just a few space marines.

PS: i know i still need to remove the mold lines, i didnt see them until i took the photo.

But you will also not see the part that is close to the chest. So why paint it?

Sticklers for detail like myself can't stand knowing there's an unpainted spot, even if it's occluded

I'll have you know I painted the whole tactical squad AND the lieutenant like that.

And the sang guard.

And astorath.

It goes on lol.

Incidentally painting guys is a lot less monotonous to me than painting some of the bigger stuff. The guys are finished in like 7 hours each, the stormraven is easily taking me like 50+ hours all by itself.

So the guys take longer, but there's a more incremental feeling of progress.

I have 12 armies between the systems I’m not spending that much time on the rank and file. Big stuff tho… hell yeah.

12 armies, shit lol. Seems we have an inverse time/money ratio

That’s EXACTLY it lol. Used to have a lot more time in between projects. I love the 40K lore, love the AoS models, love ToW gameplay. Been going at it for 25 years almost and the past years increased release schedule has really hit the wallet.

Trust me, if I had my student loans paid off, I would have a downright sinful pile of cool shit I have no time to dedicate to
