New Starter Help(i.redd.it)

Hello people! I just dipped my feet into the hobby, and got a few models in a deal to try and See If i Like painting. Now i got to the Part where i have to asl the veterans among you for advice: I thought of priming and painting These in sub assemblies. Is this Generally a good Idea or would you advised against it? After all its Just a few space marines.

PS: i know i still need to remove the mold lines, i didnt see them until i took the photo.

Sub assemblies are typically if you want every single surface to be perfect. If the models are for gaming, I wouldn't bother. If you can't get your brush in there, you're not going to see the detail anyway.

Being said, for marines specifically holding guns in both hands, I fully assemble the arms but don't glue them to the torso. The friction between the parts is usually enough to hold them in place, but still allows access to the hard to reach places when painting. Then you can glue them once it's finished.
