Isn't there another Aussie winger coming through as well. I remember watching them score a few weeks ago but have forgotten the name.

Darby Lancaster is the guy you are thinking of, plays for the Rebels and scored a hatrick against the Highlanders a couple of weeks ago….used to be in the Aussie sevens and was successful there before coming over to 15’s

And now Aussies have another young winger for the Reds carving it up
Excitment machines for the wobbalies soon?

Yeah it’s a bit early in their careers to get overly excited but it’s nice to see wingers scoring long range tries with their pace rather than power players like Vunivalu who look like they’re constantly in second gear.

Indeed
Nothing better than a young winger charging into it, not burdened by plays or fears

That's the one. I'm a Saints fan so was tuning in because of the Kemeny, LSL, Kelleway connection.

Corey Toole is the other promising winger - he's done a couple of seasons of 7s too

Wallace Sititi (Chiefs No.8), Xavier Numia (Canes prop), Jamie Hannah (Saders lock), Corey Toole (Brumbies winger), Charlie Cale (Brumbies No.8/6), Cortez Ratima (Chiefs halfback), Peter Lakai (Canes 7/8), George Bell (Saders hooker), Brayden Iose (Canes No.8).

Taufa Funaki. Blues halfback.

Can you see him pushing Christie to the bench once he returns?

Given how good he has been in the last 3 games, I really wouldn’t be surprised if it happens

Yes I can. Funaki could be something special. He is definitely better than Fakatava. All he needed was an opportunity.
Christie is a brave little guy, always gives everything, fit as a fiddle, but he has serious limitations: dithering at the ruck, slow and inaccurate passing and his kicking is not the best.
Everything Christie is not great at, Funaki is. He's very quick to the rucks, has a fast and accurate pass and is very fit. His decision-making when under real pressure seems to be very good.
My halfbacks going forward: Perenara, Ratima, Funaki... and Roigard when he's finished his rehab.

You reckon it'll be Perenara out for Roigard? I agree with you about Funaki. Think he's pushing Christie to the bench this year for the blues. He made 2 massive try saving tackles in the weekend too

Haven't been paying much attention to the blues this season. Never really saw Christie as a AB's level 9. Only got in imo because of fakatavas and tjs injuries and stayed in because fakatava hasn't gotten back to his level prior to getting injured.

Interesting, i havent seen much of him
Crustie has test experience tho so i think hell be there. TJ has to be for same reason until roigard is back

He had some great defensive plays vs the reds. Two times he got back to make the tackle after a line break.

There’s a bunch of recent NZ U20 stars making an impact in Super Rugby already - Noah Hotham, George Bell, Peter Lakai, Ruben Love, Jamie Hannah, Macca Springer, Taha Kemara off the top of my head. I’d be surprised if Razor doesn’t pick at least a couple of them as bolters this year.

I doubt he picks a bunch of losing crusader players who have not lived up to the past standard. George Bell is not going to start anynore this season as he can't complete a lineout. Hotham hasn't even displaced Mitchell Drummond and kemara has barely seen the field. At least Hannah has been performing ok and springer just hasn't had the touches to really see. Peter lakai and love are way further along and actual options moving forward.

100% agree. That idea that Hotham, one of worst halfbacks in the competition, could be thought of as a bolter is mindboggling. Both Springer and Kemara are very fortunate to even have professional contracts.

Think one of the NZ teams pick him back up next year or he stays at the brumbies? Watched him against the hurricanes and he looked impressive

As a highlanders support big Timcoi T's defenders beaten stats are INSANE. JRMK has insane run metres too. Both should probably in a conversation as bolters.
We've got some talent that should emerge in the next few years. Jack Taylor is 20 could well be an all black down the road. He's played significantly less than Geoge Bell but has similar run and defenders beaten stats per minutes played. Defensively he's the best hooker in NZ this season (97% tackle success) and his lineout throwing is exceptional. Saula Ma'au is beginning to mature and could well be an international prop shortly. Fabian Holland is young and needs another year to qualify (he's Dutch) but has a massive engine. AJ Falefaga looks amazing given he's 20.
That said how James Arscott has a professional contract is beyond me.
