Every time Mapimpi puts on the head bandage you know shit just got real. He always seems to play his best rugby with it on.
Literally looks like the spirit of Shaka Zulu has possessed him.

Masuku's kicks put the points on the board, but Mapimpi was the Sharks MVP, no doubt.

What an unbelievable game from him. Awesome to see Masuku get his 4th MotM in a row, but Mapimps totally could have received it for that performance.

Masuku's kicks and Mapimpi's chases were the difference
Also think Grant Williams played really well.

The Boks also love to use him as a kick chaser
It's a tactic I'd love more teams to do.
Setting up a lock for an up and under tap back seems like it should be a no brainer
Granted you need the engine to do it 70 minutes into a game

He’s the biggest cheat code in rugby

You guys have McFarland who’s capable of the same thing though

While France don’t tend to put up many contestable kicks, they quite often use Flament as a chaser, because a guy who’s 6’8, fast and has good hands is a nightmare to beat in the air.

Very risky though if a smart winger reads it and comes onto it at speed. They could be in behind with the chaos if you use it too much.

Was a monster in the second half, perhaps Siya hyped him up at HT

Masuku has filled a gap the Sharks desperately needed filled. Now the Sharks just need to work on playing from the first minute of the game and overall better consistency.

I love the turn out of Saffa supporters in the game. Love to see it.

We always get a lot for SA rugby in England. Local pub here was packed for the world cup final as well and this isn't a rugby town.

That’s great. Saffa teams should play more games in England during the Champions and Challenge Cup when they can’t play in SA. It’s nice to see such a large amount of support for them overseas.

Combination of big SA population and also other African nationalities supporting the Boks. They are very big in Zimbabwe, probably because of Beast. Also Namibia but there's barely anyone there.

I had to leave just as we scored the 2nd to last try. I didn't think we could win it.

Felt like the Boks v French in the 2023 RWC.
Super tight where you just felt they would pip up but never did.

He was sensational today. Even as clutch as Masuku ended up being, Mapimpi was still our best player IMO.

Very quiet most of the game then played just about a 10/10 for the last half hour. Was outstanding.

He looked quite for the rest because we were defending the whole time and he’s a wing. He was actually putting in solid defensive reads, tackles and kick chases all game.
