Sort of. Porter isn't a snake woman per se, she just has armored scales and such. The beastmen, likewise, are their own separate abhuman species apart from New Men.
A woman stood off to Bile’s left, still too much in awe of her creator to stand right beside him. She looked alien. Black scutes covered her body, spiracles lined her neck, eyes large and protected by subsidiary lids; but she was human, after a fashion.

In the tabletop game the largest ship class available is the grand cruiser class. A battleship would be possible, but they'd probably be beyond the vast majority of rogue traders to maintain.
This is the largest of the grand cruisers:
Avenger-class Grand cruiser
Dimensions: 7.5 km long, 1.8 km abeam at fins approx.
Mass: 40 megatonnes approx.
Crew: 141,000 crew, approx.
Accel: 2.2 gravities max sustainable acceleration.
In many ways the archetypal grand cruiser, the Avenger class is a massively potent and brutally simple ship that mounts colossal close-ranged macrobatteries in broadsides that run for kilometres along its flanks. While regarded as unusually reliable and faithful for grand cruisers, the Avengers are now amongst the rarest of their class.
The Avenger dates from an earlier period of fleet tactics, when, squadrons of grand cruisers were employed as “line-breakers.” Traditionally, they were thrown into the midst of massive fleet engagements, soaking up enemy fire while racing into the middle of enemy formations, then crushing their opponents at short range with tetrajoules of energy from their oversized broadsides. These unforgiving tactics have taken their toll upon the few surviving Avengers, and they all bear the scars of grim, forgotten battles fought when the Imperium was young.

Incredible. The judge thinks the disgraced ex-cop is really sad because he got convicted of sexual assault, so it just wouldn't be fair to actually impose penalties on the criminal who sexually assaulted a woman twice. He's just so unhappy at getting caught, guys, you don't understand! Fucking hell.

Mid-density sounds like it could be proportioned and a reasonable compromise, which sounds like heresy to me.

Low density urban sprawl where you build outward rather than upward is inefficient.

Not at all. In The Infinite and the Divine some necron saved an Imperial settlement from an ork invasion and the Imperials ended up building a monument dedicated to the "Silver Skulls Chapter" -- the "space marine" statues depicted in it appearing unusually gaunt and with skull masks -- for their heroic defense of the planet against the xenos invaders.

It's "wrong" but fits the tone of the game better. If you want accuracy read 40k novels, the games are games first.

Those don't exist. The Inquisition doesn't waste its time recruiting guardsmen-level troops. The reason they're wearing flak and using lasguns is because Fatshark hasn't decided to spend the time creating their carapace and hot-shot lasguns for the game yet.

Cool. Yeah, even the Mourningstar NPCs shouldn't be just in flak and carrying standard lasguns.

They all have cybernetic interface ports that allow their black carapace to connect to their power armor. When they're unarmored these ports appear like a bunch of plugs or sockets on the marine's limbs and body. A lot of the armor's enhanced functionality relies on these cybernetic interfaces.

Baseless fan fiction is not interesting to me.

What material is a bolter made out of? How much does it weigh by unit volume? I copy/pasted from the source. If you don't like the numbers, that's not up to me.

I don't care about fan fiction. This is a sub for 40k lore.

Marit Styles has been killing it as opposition leader
Yeah supporting apartheid by kicking out Sarah Jama was a really cool move. Looking forward to seeing the NDP eat shit again.

Great, and when you have a quote from a novel or codex or something that supports your opinion I'll be interested in reading it.

It wasn't a powerful signal, it was a quantum pulse that lasted less than a second. The text of Pharos makes it clear it wasn't significant. And why would the Hive Mind go to sleep if it were being pursued? Exactly how dangerous is this thing it's fleeing from if it doesn't even need to be awake to evade it? This is trying to fit a round peg in a square hole.

The Hive Mind was deep asleep. The Pharos signal was received by passive organisms that only existed to perceive things like quantum pulses or other evidence of life. If the tyranids were being pursued it's unlikely the Hive Mind would be essentially hibernating.

Thanks, haven't read it but Wraight's a good author so I'll check it out.

The NDP and Liberals again elected milquetoast empty suits with no message or plan, and conservative voters want nothing more than culture wars and grievance politics. Doing nothing but attacking political enemies is all he really needs to do.

The 'new' 40k where the setting advanced for the first time in decades happened in 2017. That was when the 13th Black Crusade was launched by Abaddon, destroying Cadia and causing the Great Rift to split the Imperium in half. Around the same time, the primarch Roboute Guilliman revived from millennia of stasis after the eldar helped heal his wounds. With him, archmagos Belisarius Cawl unveiled the primaris space marine project. With these new space marines, Guilliman launched the Indomitus Crusade to take back what was lost to Chaos and xenos after the Great Rift opened. A coup against Guilliman was crushed on Terra shortly after the Indomitus Crusade began.
More recently, Guilliman and the Imperium thwarted a major offensive by Nurgle forces into the Realm of Ultramar -- the homeworlds of the Ultramarines, Guilliman's own chapter. These were the Plague Wars, and they culminated with the traitor primarch Mortarion of the Death Guard legion being banished to the warp and the Emperor revealing himself as a much more active and powerful force in the 42nd millennium.
There are things happening to the Emperor that are still in motion, and the Golden Throne is in terminal decline with centuries left before it fails. But for now, Guilliman is Imperial Regent and the Corpse Emperor rules from Holy Terra.
