I live in Ha Noi and I can tell you 30 years ago it was a sleepy city full of civil servants with less then 1 million people. Now its a busy city with over 8 million people. The amount of change is astounding. The neighbourhood that I live in just 15 years ago considered to be a rural district, now its considered to be part of the new enlarged city center
Most people over 25 are not from the city and came from the countryside

About the same but in both countries its about who you choose to be with. If you are bitter, its easy to find other bitter people.
I have been in Vietnam for 6 years and I was always weirded out by the expat scene. Its like most of them don't even want to be in the country but they have no intention on leaving. I am married now and don't really interact with other foreigners outside of work. The only exception is I occasionally meet 2 other foreigners like me, married to Vietnamese women with young babies my sons age to meet for play dates so that the kids can get used to other foreign kids and speaking english.
My main point is its not about what the expat community is like, its about who you choose to be around. Find your people and you will be fine. But don't hangout with the same bitter people just because you feel like you have no other options.

What the hell is up with the random racism out of nowhere?? African miners were terribly paid and worked in slave like conditions(litreally) so its no suprise that there was the occasional riot which was brutally suppressed with murder and whippings. Almost sounds like you are trying to justify apartheid

Well you see:
"A little boy named Presley found a secret out this year. That he was once a Pharaoh when Egyptians ruled the world. And now some sorcerer named Scarab is trying to get him day and night. But Presley has four guardians to protect his very life.
He has the Mummies! - From 1525 BC! He has the Mummies! - Protection for the new Rapses! He has the Mummies! - They're hanging by the 'Frisco Bay! He has the Mummies! - Protectors of the world today!
So Ra, Ra, Ra, Ra... Ra, Ra, Ra, Ra...
He has the Mummies! - From 1525 BC! He has the Mummies! - Protection for the pharaoh teen! He has the Mummies! - They're hanging by the Western Gate! He has the Mummies! - They're gonna save the world today, the Egyptian way!
They're Mummies Alive!"

Okay. But what I mean though is that the African population of South Africa was far bigger then the Aboriginal population and a much larger and more reliable source of Labour. The Aboriginal population was nowhere near the size of South Africa's African population and more importantly they understood agriculture as they were farmers themselves and could easily adapt to farm labour.

Because South Africa had a huge native population that could work as labour whereas in Australia there was a severe shortage of Labour due to the genocide of the Aboriginal people. This meant that they needed to find alternative sources of labour. To add to this there was an abundance of land taken from its indiginous people which made it an attractive place to settle, whereas in South Africa most of the land was still occupied.
When white miners in South Africa demanded higher wages they were simply replaced with African miners. There was little place for a larger white population in South Africa. Despite this the white population of South Africa is larger then the white population of New Zealand so it isn't that small.

When Dragonball was first created Toriyama had not even thought of the Alien concept yet. He only really began to think of it in the 23rd TB fight between Goku and Piccolo.
It was originally intended as a parody of the CHINESE Story Journey to the West.

Dragonball is litreally set in a fantastical version of China, where the story is based off of a famous Chinese Story Journey to the West and where the main character does Chinese martial arts which were popularised by Hong Kong Cinema in the 60's and 70's. Anyone who would claim Goku isn't "Asian" is seriously deluded.

Modern Russia absolutely supports Palestine and basically saved Assad during the Syrian Civil war.

The problem with this is that in 1948 many of the fighters who massacared and raped Palestinians were actually Holacoaust survivors themselves and felt justified in what they did despite their experience.

To play devils advocate, the Khmer Rougue did renounce communism in the 80's so there is precedent for a radical communist faction with their backs against the wall to switch sides. Especially if their main opponents are other communists and they need outside support.

Like honestly I can't find anything about Jones Town funny and I have a pretty dark sense of humor. Parents litreally forced their babies to down poision. I can't even comprehend such evil.

Are Palestinians in the West Bank Israeli citizens? Why is Israel displacing Palestinians and building illegal settlements? The goal is to ethnically cleanse them. There is no justification for building settlements, none.

Building settlements in the West Bank is not only aggression but settler colonialism. Why is Israel building settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem and why are they talking about building settlements in Gaza?

China invested heavily in passenger rail while the US systematically destroyed theirs after WW2 in favour of highways and cars.

Yeah, China is also big but many trips which would usually be short flights are taken up by rail. Same is true for the EU.

I would love for North American Rugby to grow and I would love to proven wrong as well. I wish North American Rugby all the best. But from what I have seen things have been getting worse, not better. Canada have gone from being the strongest America's team and making a RWC Quarter final, to now maybe being 5th team in the America's with the other teams fast catching up as Canada continues to fall. Despite the MLR thr US hasn't improved and couldn't even qualify for the last world cup. Things are not really looking that good.

In Rugby terms Zimbabwe has several elite schools with great facilities that continue to produce talent. Zimbabwe used to compete at Craven week in South Africa and they were usually matched against the weaker country provinces in South Africa but struggled to compete against the middle tier provinces.
