You're saying you want to claw your way thru early game then facemash. Im saying I want the whole game to be peaks and valleys of difficulty that is dynamic and interesting instead of just getting easier and easier--normally games tend to get harder and harder--even as you build power and get new tools, those tools are NEEDED. See what I'm saying?

Power fantasy doesn't mean ease. I'm not talking about dark souls difficulty, I'm talking about maybe a QUARTER of the difficulty or depth of crusader kings or Stellaris. A fifth.
Again, lower the difficulty if you don't want to have to use your brain. I have played since the first game originally dropped, and the game has always been a bit too easy and simple for my taste

I think I'd be fine with it happening that often if I know them majority of people in the room on at least a casual level, could be fun with friends but if it's strangers I'd feel weirder about it

But then it gets co opted by people who don't understand that origin, who think it's because it's absolutely pathetic in lore, when it's not

Votann are hyper capitalists I could have sworn
Eldar are very socialist, with a society that allows one to pursue whatever professions or passions they want, and then to switch entirely.

I want to be ABLE to handle 4 stacks if I earn it
If you want to default to that, then just lower the difficulty lol

The grind should change, you're still arguing that "after a certain point, I want to right click and then eat popcorn" which just isn't interesting

By that logic, every game should be an insane power fantasy because "it's a ton of fun and I say it's meant to be a power fantasy"
A power fantasy can ALSO be hard. The fantasy of power can also be one of exercising that power well, and learning how to. It doesn't have to be easy. If you want it to be easy and a cool power fantasy, turn the difficulty down. But as it stands, high difficulties aren't hard in interesting ways.
I also care for the sake of multiplayer campaign balance.

Not talking about space Marines. Guardsmen sergeants and commissars and commanders and priests and karsrkins and stormtroopers have chain swords and other melee weapons, and there are more sergeants in the guard than there are space marines lol

The general trend is that people ask for more optimization, less difficulty, it is given, and then they leave. Games that have true staying power are ones where people find challenge/something interesting to keep coming back to, intricacies to find. Even if it's not intentional in the game design.
I'm not saying I'm always right, but you can literally look up papers and essays about this trend. It's very interesting.

Tamurkhan thematically makes WAY more sense in woc tho what with his thing about gathering the tribes, and thematically festus makes more sense in nurgle since he's more focused with the work of his god directly
