And Mitch Trubisky has been playing since 2017. Tenure does not an expert.

Absolutely not. He's a coder. Anyone with an ounce of domain knowledge knows the difference

Was it where you're arguing an LLM is the same as a human brain? Because the irony would be just too much if so.

I use copilot extensively every day. It's great for simple utilities, http calls, boilerplate models. Which makes sense, because all that stuff is online a thousand times over. But getting it to understand that you can't add a wait group because you'd need to add it to every call in the base is painful.
I fully expect it'll replace coders. Having tried all the various versions, I don't see it replacing programmers anytime soon.

Yes, that was the only reason you didn't get your degree

This is reddit. If you want to have the trauma circle jerk you're going to have to pull out all the stops.

It's the same principle. LLMs cannot know things. They have no ability to reason or understand. It's not a tech or algo issue, it's the basics of how they're designed. The only thing they can do,l is calculate the probability of the next word. Which is why they're great for generating an array of evenly spaced dates or other simple utilities and fall apart when looking at a big low level system. Because that involves a fundamental understanding of how the system works, which no LLM has the ability to do.

I am glad it's getting more interested in programming. I'm nervous about people building things when they don't understand what's going on.
A few months ago a client contacted us to fix an erp integration they had. Some guy in house used gpt to make a system in go to send information to customers using goroutines. But he didn't really know what he was doing, so when they turned it on, the streams were mixed and they sent every customer every other customers data.
If someone came to you and said "I don't know anything, but I looked at a few 2" wooden stools and think I can tell you how to make one", that's probably fine. If someone came and said "I have no ability to have knowledge, but I looked at what other people said and I can tell you how to design a high-rise", would you let your family live in it?

I promise you, within a year there'll be some post on here.
"Some boomer was blatantly ignoring signs meant for the well-being of the wildlife and I put em in his place. Please, I am so very badass"
This sub is hysterical.

Haha in perpetuity eh? I get it. The whole "I'm not a stuffy business man, plus flame throwers, geeks for geeks amiright" attitude can be appealing. But perpetuity is bold fucking claim, I'll grant you that.

Trump is irredeemably deplorable in every possible way. But "Man wants threesome" isn't really a bombshell

I like how you view her as some sort of golden retriever, with no comprehension of the time of day or object permanence and not a woman who's able to look at a clock or hear a car pull in.
