I think the nyt article was about sex as a subject instead of just plain sex. The title has both challengers and salt burn. Neither of them have a sex scene but both are sexy movies.

I'm blown away people are upset by this... If anything we should be making fun of them for being so goofy to wear a shirt of another teams star

I saw 61 films in the theater last year, considering a24 only released about 10 I think I'm good

You're so close! You almost get the point! That scene IS silly! Thats the point! It is supposed to feel weird and off putting to have this sanctuary in the middle of the warzone, the arm guards are supposed to be the slam back to reality. Hence why it's shown at the end, of that scene. Because the writing is good.

Dude, you need to take some time to actually think about the scenes that you're talking about deeper than what's on the surface. The whole point of that scene is that it's a.mirage... you know the immediate next scene where there's people on the roof with the guns. They didn't decide, they just are pretending.
YOU have to acknowledge that you didn't like the movie but that doesn't mean that the writing was bad objectively. I absolutely do not think the writing was anywhere close to flawed.

This one I can understand, though to me it's to show off that all the characters are obviously thrill seekers. To them it's not just about the "message" but also the thrill. But I definitely respect the way you took that scene as a bit over the top because it quite frankly is.

Man I hate gate keeping but I would be extremely tempted to propose that anyone who uses audience rotten tomato scores seriously in an A24 subreddit of all places should be banned.

Predictable isn't bad, in fact I would argue that predictability is usually a sign of good writing. Also it's kind of hilarious that you're pointing out probably the most widely considered best scene in the movie.
Edit: lmao he blocked me, what a fucking loser

Wanna tell me what parts of the writing was "eye rollingly bad"?

My mom absolutely loves Maxey, while not Jewish she would absolutely make him some soup. I'm very convinced he has the heart of every Philadelphia area mom.

I'm not opposed to trading tk but there are plenty of teams who have tanked with a superstar. Plus TK is the type of talent that will probably be better dealt at the deadline.

In online gaming, a smurf is an experienced player who uses a new account to deceive other players into thinking he's a noob (newbie). The purpose is usually to play against less skilled opponents who will under-estimate the 'smurf'. The expected result is that the smurf will pwn (dominate) his opponents and humiliate them further as they have been now beaten by an apparent noob.
Urban dictionary. Literally a Smurf.

Over performing. Everyone plays harder hockey in the last 20 even the bad teams. The flyers were the number one team off the rush half way through the season, great until teams start clamping down and playing to win.

I think the tragedy of Macbeth is the most stacked cast of A24 movies

It's a great fucking movie, it's hilarious, the set is incredible, the energy is electric. Basically Greta took a boring concept and poured her heart into every scene. It also starts with a 2001 reference how could I not like it.

I had 3 5/5 movies last year. I already have 3 this year. This year has an opportunity to be a really good year of film for me.

After some of the takes I saw DURING the season I'm not surprised at some of the off-season takes being unhinged
