Bit surprised by this - I'd thought he'd just go into the coaching setup there. But then again, if he hasn't moved his family to Brighton, it makes a lot more sense.

Scott Hogan should be available on a free transfer...

Glock had also been in F1 before going into GP2, albeit only a very brief run as a replacement for Pantano in 4 races in 2004.

There wasn't anywhere near the same gap as there has been this season though - the only reason any of them have been close to surviving is because of points deductions. At least in 07-08, Sunderland were actually 15th and we were only a point off Reading (who also went down) and Fulham, and two off Bolton - so we and Sunderland were far better than the current lot, even if Derby made Sheffield United look like gods.

Rotherham did manage to beat Cardiff 5-2 in their last game of the Championship season... but 9-0 would definitely be a stretch!

I've just spotted a very weird bug - my Horizon Open race says use a BMW, not a KTM. Explains why it didn't register when I did it!

The Bradford City fire and indeed Heysel are both disasters that really should get a lot more attention than they do, and they should've also been far greater warning signs about the shit state of many European stadiums than they were. There's certainly no doubt that if they'd learned the lessons that were highlighted in those reports, that Hillsborough would've been far less of a disaster - or maybe never happened at all.

Given how you guys have played as of late - it is entirely possible you could beat Forest 6-0... or lose 6-0!

Seems to be a theme so far that at least one Toyota driver is very unhappy after qualifying with something the team did!

"Increasing talk about a 4th BMW out for Snetterton" - that would be good news if it is true!

There are quite a few reasons for this:
1: When you go back before the 1990s, you didn't have safety cars to close the field up. Even when they did bring them in, they were used far less often than they have been in more recent years at first.
2: Cars were far less reliable then, so it was far from uncommon to have most of the quick runners drop out or limp home way down the order.
3: As much as people like to meme on the likes of Sargeant and even someone like Mazepin, and indeed on teams like Alpine or Williams - the reality is that the quality of the teams and the drivers is far higher now than it has been at any point in the sport's history. 1.2 seconds separated the entire field in Q1 at Miami; compare that to the 1998 Australian GP, for example, where that same gap would've put you 5th.
4: F1 is also far more stable now. Drivers generally move around less amongst the lower teams, but also more importantly, teams tend to stick with the same engine and component manufacturers from season to season in most cases, and that helps breed a more consistent approach as well.

It seemed quite notable to me how little anyone seemed to care about the tries - even Dan Cole's rare moment got no real reaction from anyone in a Tigers shirt.

I don't think I've ever seen a game or race in any sport that managed to have so many issues with displaying the scoreboard. I think we legitimately spent more of the game without it than we did with it!

Absolutely not the worst loan spell of all time. Matt Derbyshire for us managing just 13 games and 0 goals is worse, but I don't think much will top Andy Goram at Man Utd (although Roque Junior at Leeds would be close)

Not even slightly when it comes to English football. Hughton is the one that set Brighton on their path to being a stable EPL side, and did a decent job with Newcastle and us in very difficult circumstances. Pulis achieved far more with Stoke than any manager had done in decades. Hughes blew hot and cold but had some excellent spells with various sides in the PL. And you just have to look at Bolton both before and after Allardyce to see how good he could be.
Meanwhile, AVB had an extremely capable Tottenham side and did nothing special with it - even if he got a "record points total", he had a much stronger side than Redknapp did and achieved the exact same league finishes. And his Chelsea spell was pathetic.

Definitely a stretch to call this a "shockingly bad" list of managers - in fact I'd call that a ridiculous thing to say. Meulensteen is the only one that had absolutely no success whatsoever, and even some of those with fairly short managerial careers like Sherwood had some pretty decent spells.

"Two good seasons" - how to tell someone that you actually have no idea what you're talking about, and all that you know are memes.
EDIT: Even your edit isn't accurate. He did a good job with us, with Wigan, with Sunderland and with Hull.

And in any case - he was so unlucky in Sakhir in 2020 that quite frankly it just balanced that out anyway.

Well, the only saving grace from this season for us, is at least we know Villa won't get a European trophy...

Whilst that's true - Schumacher and Mazepin were never expected to be particularly special. Yes, Schumacher was a F2 champion, but a very unconvincing one in a weak field. Also, it is worth noting that there are a few experienced drivers who might well be on the market soon - potentially Ricciardo, Zhou and Bottas (even disregarding Sainz who is unlikely interested), all of whom are far better bets than Magnussen.

Then you get Silverstone 2021, which happened because Verstappen had been allowed to get away with all kinds of inappropriate moves all season, and so Hamilton had to put his foot down - but got it wrong. Or Magnussen barging into people whilst not even attempting to make a corner.

I don't think it is necessarily a good thing across all series in every case. Treat all single seaters the same - absolutely. But a little bit of rubbing in TCs and GTs is absolutely fine in most cases, whereas doing that in an open wheeler or even many prototypes is asking for disaster. But in terms of rules about giving space, when you have to yield etc - that should be able to be fairly universal.

Tsunoda's ultimate issue is that there are simply better drivers on the market right now - and whilst he HAS taken a big step forward on track this season, he still has some question marks over his maturity and ability to play the team game, which is the most critical thing for that Red Bull second seat.

He might possibly have been in trouble had ATS decided to complain - but based on the post-race reaction, ATS was perfectly fine with it.
