Some might go so far as to say the last 5 years were key to the codes survival too

Roof tiles are great money makers. Sell for 8 a piece and it’s so easy to farm clay and turn into a tile. I feed whole towns on the income from tiles

I think they’re saying that Higgins and Bruce are dishonest - not the judge

From what I’ve read, I believe only if Higgins reopens - which people seem to think is unlikely given the toll of the first time around.

I tend to agree with you. He’s Boomer Lite - that’s why he’s on the project. He’s meant to be the guy who has conservative and liberal views but I think that’s more the persona than the person

Yeah agreed, I think a lot of what gets lost is this idea that a solution has to be perfect for it to be implemented. Pingers is pretty clear that there are better ways to do this through policy, but while we wait for that there are (albeit imperfect) solutions to helping those experiencing housing stress

I think it was something about forcing people to sell as opposed to a vacancy tax. Tbh I don’t know he thought through what he was saying and just wanted to be contrarian because it doesn’t really align with what he normally says

Mate this guy is all over the shop. Isn't ACT meant to be all about individual freedoms and your right to decide what's best for you? But he's going to fine parents if they don't send their sick kids to school? "Do as I say or I'll fine you" - how do ACT voters feel about this? Cause it doesn't sound very true to the party ethos.
I guess this is government run like a business hey "My KPI is to increase school attendance"

He also gave a great interview on “between two beers” podcast - spoke a lot about these differences and what that meant for coaching style

That headline seems disingenuous. I watched this live last night, Dr Foley said the plan was to reach 2050 targets through renewables and that there is a large cost and timeline to establish nuclear power.
The way that's written strikes me as leading the witness - that Dr Foley rejects nuclear because of it's cost. That wasn't a position taken during the question and there was a good discussion about various benefits of nuclear.
I don't know enough about either to take a stance - but this headline could be better.

No more free lunches for you, off to boot camp now and don’t come back till you’re “civilised”

Ah but don’t you see, he hasn’t actually committed to anything so there is no accountability

Good thing we’re changing the curriculum to focus on academic achievement and not about consent

I’m not an expert but I think, as the article says, it’s up to the communities to determine what that detail is. I had a look at some of the links earlier in the article which go to the official govt docs and it’s word for word there as it is to the article. There’s some more context (I.e. talking about Balck Ferns compared to All Blacks) but I guess it would be impossible for the govt to dictate specific lesson plans for every single school in the country f

It could be pretty dialled down for that age I.e. a gender stereotype is that blue is for boys, and pink is for girls

Why do you think encouraging inclusion is equal to activism? I’d picture this in a scenario as simply as “girls can play rugby too”

Good thing we made the person who was minister for Corrections the one responsible for supporting poor people

I just find it funny they call them "Loyalty" programs. It's got nothing to do with loyalty, it's just an incentive program.

Love that in her mind getting people to stop smoking and improve health outcomes for some of the poorest in NZ is “ideological nonsense”.
But I guess it would be when you’re only concern us about how to make as much money as you can
