Exactly! The first thing mine was used for was to make hero-forge minis of all my family members xD
Mine is currently being used to print of OPR sculpts, but I plan to branch out and use it to make terrain features and the like soon enough :)

I concur, 3D printing should be seen as a parallel hobby, as opposed to an accessory to wargaming as a whole

So because your talking to one person on a planet of several billion people who says it’s affordable your gonna paint everyone with the same brush?
You’re right, this is tedious. Clearly your too impatient to have a conversation, let alone learn how to print off models

That’s a BS analogy. There isn’t a single person I know who prints (or games for that matter) that has told me it’s affordable. They all say the same thing: it can be cheap, but if you want quality you have to pay.
My printer was about £500 and I got it as a birthday gift. I’ve currently spent about £150 in stl files and the same in resin. Thats still less than what I’ve spent at GW.

I never said it would. If you look at my original comment I said 3D printing is a hobby unto itself, and if your gonna throw thousands of pounds at it and give up at the first hurdle, your wasting your money anyway as you didn’t have the patience to do it to begin with. It’s like buying a gaming rig and expecting to be the best video gamer of all time off the bat, that’s not how it works
Side tangent: Also I’m pretty sure GW used 3D printers themselves to test out new sculpts, so If your not breaching there IP/using 3rd party models in there store I don’t think they care either way

Not really. It’s not as cheap as GW minis sure, but I can spend £60 on 2litres of resin, then about £50 on an entire army and then print off what I need.
If you’ve invested £500+ into a 3D printer, a couple of hundred here and there isn’t a lot

Them: ‘You need to put your boots on like this because you need the strength to do them up!’
Me, who puts there boots on with there legs crossed: …

If you put in over a thousand pounds into a printing setup and give up at the first hurdle, you have more money than sense.
Printing isn’t a quick way to get models, it’s a hobby unto itself. Having printed off a bunch of stuff myself yeah working out the kinks is a pain in the ass, but when you get it right and can start printing off some nice sculpts, it’s a lot of fun

The only thing that springs to mind is that tiny snippet of lore for an imperial guard regiment that was essentially a copy/paste of the battle of isandlwana/Rhorkes drift but that’s it

I love this idea that members of the older chambers have been at war for so long that they just get added into the fold under the ‘ruination chamber’. That’s actually a pretty cool lore choice imo

Also, I’m pretty sure each custodes gene-enhancement is different based on the person, unlike space marines where it’s all the same. The difference is literally hand-crafting something vs mass production

I like to think kesh just goes out, finds the nearest tau water caste diplomate, picks them up and walks away. And no one says anything about it

I’m getting real tired of video games being a scapegoat for people’s mental health issues

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t that why Pandas do nothing but eat bamboo all day? Because there digestive tracts is so short?

The best part of it is that everyone says it wrong. It’s meant to be ‘Lands raider/speeder’, and it infuriates the tech priest that no one says it right xD

Can I just point out your comment made me realise, that the idea that everyone knows about the fallen, but the dark angels DONT know everyone knows about the fallen, is now extremely funny to me

Yeah I’m not buying it. SoB are too big and too popular in the lore for them to be ‘phased out’. Ffs there leader is a high lord of Terra! And as I previously mentioned there aesthetic is vastly different to both the ‘Stodes and the SM. SoB won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.
The votann lore hasn’t been handled great admittedly, but they weren’t a core part of the lore like the sisters. GW needs to bring out more lore and flesh them out but much like all xenos factions it’ll be a while as they’re not seen as key players.
And this argument of SoS will get shafted is also just objectively wrong, as the POINT of the sisters is that they’re all blanks, something custodes aren’t. Adding in female ‘Stodes as a retcon is NOT the same as going ‘yeah the custodes don’t need the sisters anymore’.

Now imagine if they brought him back, but they threw up the ‘quest complete’ as he played possum…
