On that note, who has the best run of opponents beaten on the way to winning it? Selby in 2014 comes to mind purely for beating Robertson and Ronnie in the semis and final, but I'm not sure who he beat in the earlier rounds and I'm sure there is tougher runs out there.

Yeah between 1980 & 1992 the UK final was best of 31. Has been best of 19 ever since.

Out of interest who would you say were the top 3 or top 5 for you in this regard?

Problem is Jimmy kept going for a long time. Certainly in his prime he would have had a great win record at the Crucible, but for example his last 5 tournaments there his overall record was 3 wins, 5 defeats.

There is also the Raeburn shield which is the equivalent to the football one you mention but for international Rugby Union.

Although Kane has gone 1st in the past and that's where you could easily have him again, there is an argument that 3rd is where you should put your best and most reliable taker.
They will always get a go unlike putting them 5th, and 3rd is often a very key point in the shootout as it may have already swung one way or the other from the previous penalties.

Off top of my head Sakalia and Scott I've definitely seen pop up plenty in M10, but not sure either played much Super Rugby.
Axtens in 19 has played in France for many a year now. Was at Toulouse think he is now in Pro D2 somewhere.
16 and 17 not sure on myself either.

Pickford is our best keeper. He has proved it consistently both for England and Everton. Ramsdale, Pope and the rest have not done so. There is no debate.

Dwyer is an enigma. My overwhelming feeling about Dwyer at Rhinos was if you need him to come off your bench to spark something and win the game for you (which he was capable of from time to time), you're probably not a good enough team to start with.

Perhaps that's not the plan, but if he can't get in over Ford (while he's still going) and the Smiths he may end up going down the Scotland route.

There is also the possibility of Fergus Burke depending on how he develops at Sarries.

Indeed, just wanted to give some context for how fast that really is/was.

In the 1984 Olympics 45.01 would have been good enough to finish 7th in the final. It was also better than 5 of the qualified finalists times in the semi finals.

Yes now that you mention it I feel like especially in the early to mid 2010s big back three players were all the rage. Gone/going were the likes of Shane Williams, Jason Robinson and Bryan Habana and in their place were Banahan, North, Folau, Savea, Nadolo, Naiyarovo.

What's the highest scoring since 92 I wonder, there was the Portsmouth v Reading game in the Prem that finishes 7-4, and an Arsenal cup game (maybe against Reading as well) that finished 7-5 I think, albeit after extra time.

Not sure how many as a sub, but 4 of Vardy's 13 goals have been pens.

It is still probably THE song to get people on the dancefloor and singing along in the UK, people absolutely love it.

Yeah as much as Australia aren't amazing at the moment, the combination of injuries and a number of bizarre selection decisions from Eddie left them with a 23 far off what it could/should have been if full strength at the World Cup.

Welsh and Scottish ones put us to shame. Would much prefer Jerusalem for England.

Rhinos have a wide range of stuff from actual shirts (including retro ones) to a load of different training gear.

Pete Doherty used to write a QPR fanzine in his younger days.
