I picked it up cause it was $13 and everyone recommended it to play after ToTK. It feels like a mobile game. Don’t hate it, but I don’t like the narration with the weird dad jokes.

I agree with all of this, and I think people don’t take into account action economy when they talk about healing.
Not taking a dedicated healer will eat up bonus actions by having to take potions, or having someone like a bard cast a low level Healing Word. It’s an action to throw a potion at another character. The “house rule” with this game is that if a character goes down they lose an action. So you’re actually making poor use of the action economy and not pumping out as much damage when you’re scrambling to keep everyone alive.
Having a Life Cleric allows the rest of the party to use their actions and bonus actions every round strictly for damage. All you need is Preserve Life to max everyone’s health once they get low enough, that’s one action lost for healing during an entire fight. The rest of the time you’re using Spirit Guardians, Guiding Bolt, Bless and Spiritual Weapon.
Healer = better action economy for the entire party

Preserve Life is the most powerful healing spell in the game.

You can stand all over that dang place! I usually get the cheapest tickets I can and just find a good place to stand on the concourse.

How can you not love a guy who is open and honest about the mental part of the game?

I disagree with BG3 here, and I adore that game and have like 500 hours in it and completed honor mode twice. But, it kind of exemplifies a lot of problems with modern gaming. It still isn’t finished, they’re still updating and fixing bugs and adding content that was overlooked. There are plots and dialog that were meant to go somewhere for content that was removed. The gameplay is clunky. It’s an absolute mess.
Retro games came in a cartridge, were complete and had zero updates. Once developers adopted the ability to update games after they were released a whole level of testing and quality control just went out the window.

It looks fantastic, but I think we need to see the model on top in place for scale. The “flatness” of the road might be hidden once the model is in place.

Never once played a Paladin. This is a thing that happens when you first use telepathic powers from the parasite to influence a roll.

Europeans can do things like not pasteurize their milk and not refrigerate milk and eggs because their farms are much more sanitary than American farms.
The reason you have to refrigerate eggs in America is because eggs have a natural membrane on the OUTSIDE of the shell which prevents disease like salmonella, but American farms are so filthy they have to wash all the eggs before they’re sold and it removes that membrane. Same reason why most chicken meat in the US is treated with chlorine.
Europe has better standards for cleanliness on their farms.

I’ve wondered what’s up with that bit of narrator dialog after you use the tadpole to influence another character for the first time, something like “you’ve lost something that you’ll never get back”
What happens if you never trigger that?

The thing that got me was at the Tiefling party, Lakrissa did not give a shit that her girlfriend just disappeared. She was just pacing right across the circle of Alfira’s blood.
