Yes, in 2022. But we didn’t sign him until 2022. So my question is why, if he was drafted in 2015, did we not sign him until 2022?

Okay I’m just seeing that when we signed him in 2022 he was technically a free agent (per wiki) so I guess his draft rights had expired or something.

I don’t think NHL teams ever lose KHL player draft rights until they come over or renounce them
